Re: First year accomodation choices for Aberdeen UniHillhead has been updated within the last couple of years (since I did it!) and Elphinstone and Kings are for post grads or mature students which is probably why they are not included.(Original post by JAZZA007)
That guide is really out of date because both Kings Hall and Elphinestone Road are now accommodation choices

Re: First year accomodation choices for Aberdeen UniIm waiting on two more offers to come through and then im able to firm my offer for Aberdeen!(Original post by cgraham15)
I've accepted my offer to do Law
Anyway, I'm probably gonna go into Fyfe or Wavell up in Hillhead. I've visited there a few times and the kitchens are really good. Although I'm still not sure if I wanna go into one of the flats, like New Carnegie
, Im going to Hillhead too but i reckon im going to try get into North Court
the kitchens are good in like Wavell etc, but i hated the dormitory kinda setup. New Carnegie is too expensive my dad says!

Re: First year accomodation choices for Aberdeen Uniyeah New Carnegie is expensive. Also, you get labelled as posh if you stay there(Original post by kirsti)

Edinburgh rejected you ?! when was that ? im still waiting on their offer but mine is going to be the same as yours haa -
Re: First year accomodation choices for Aberdeen Uniyeah i've heard that too. North Court from what ive heard is the next best thing to it! and it only works out slightly more expensive than Adam Smith + Wavell(Original post by cgraham15)
yeah New Carnegie is expensive. Also, you get labelled as posh if you stay there

Cool, good luck!

ehm, it depends what Edinburgh say. im expecting either a rejection or a really high conditional so yeah, Aberdeen will most likely be my first choice!
other offers are from Stirling, Robert Gordon and yeah, Aberdeen

Re: First year accomodation choices for Aberdeen UniYou don't get labelled as posh at all! Or at least, I never have been and neither have my flatmates or friends who stay here.... mostly because we're all just as skint as everyone else :P(Original post by cgraham15)

Re: First year accomodation choices for Aberdeen UniYou don't get labelled as posh, people will privately judge though(Original post by HeatherHatter)

£500 a month or whatever it is is considerably more than many students can afford to spend just on accomodation and I am not sure that the additional cost is worth it in the end.

Re: First year accomodation choices for Aberdeen UniI know a lot of people who are in NCC this year who didn't put it as their first choice, so I don't think people do judge really, since people didn't always choose to go here so even the people living here can't really afford it themselves.(Original post by TheRabbit)

(I think the additional cost is totally worth it though, but that's just because the thought of sharing a bathroom with people is just horrific D=) -

Re: First year accomodation choices for Aberdeen Uni
Hello!
I was wondering what the shared bathroom/toilet facilities are like in the self catering flats, are they like normal bathrooms? And what the bathrooms like in Adam Smith House, are the showers in there own room or are the showers in cubicles in one room, if that makes sense?
I'm a bit fussy about bathrooms, it'll properly be a deciding factor for the accommodation

, Im going to Hillhead too but i reckon im going to try get into North Court
