How is the politics course? Are the modules interesting?
I got an offer for Politics and Psychology on Friday and it's somewhere I've always wanted to go
You shouldn't be disappointed with politics to be honest. As far as I am concerned, the course is fantastic and the lecturers/department is brilliant.
It really depends on what sort of politics you are interested, but for my part, the modules were great. My modules were: Why Politics Matters, Justice Authority and Power, Changing World; History of International Relations, British Politics Since 1945, Modern Democracies, Politics of Sustainability.
A few of them are core, such as Modern Democracies and Why Politics Matters, but they are quite interesting. If I had to recommend one module to anyone, it would be Politics of Sustainability. The course is ran by Stephen Quilley and the guy is bloody amazing - really weird, but a brilliant lecturer. His course is a mix match of environmental politics, philosophy, and classics, but it is bloody good. It was the module I NEVER missed; too interesting.
