I concede The point about nuclear blasts not being localised, but not the point about military leaders necessarily putting their safety first. Sadly however Switzerland will have to rely on the neotiations to ensure Germany gets protection via nuclear weapons rather than feeling the need to develop them themselves. As this is the lesser of two evils. (by evils read bad solutions.)

Germany would like to assure Switzerland that it will undertake endeavors towards reaching an agreement with NATO before thinking of developing nuclear arms.

Greece agrees that Germany is a responsible, peaceful nation, but disagrees that it is in any way neccesary for Germany to seek nuclear arms

In this day and age, it is necessary for most nations to have nuclear arms, especially with rogue nations such as the DPRK arming themselves. Are you suggesting that if Germany does not hold nuclear weapons, that the US, UK, etc should not hold them either?

As a former Defense minister has stated, Germany is considering the development of nuclear weapons to protect itself from potential hazards such as certain terrorist countries that may possess nuclear arms.
At this moment, Germany's nuclear program is at a very nascent stage. There will be numerous discussions with NATO and other organisations before any definitve plan is made. Germany's move was perhaps motivated by the French President Jacques Chirac's to utilise nuclear arms against terrorists.

Australia has no problems with Germany developing nuclear weapons. However, Australis believes the money allocated to such defence spending be put towards development of low yield nuclear weapons. Similar to weapons America has begun converting its tradtional ballistic missiles into. The point is that the biggest current threats of the world are terrorism and a few slect rogue nations - high yield nuclear weapons are useless against terrorists a such a weapon would destory far more than a small collection of terrorist workings. Similarly, in war, it is better to destroy a offensive regime rather than a nation. Many more innocent lives would be lost.

Germany thanks Australia for its suggestions, and sees the point made by Australia. It promises to remember them in the discussions it has with planning experts for the weapons.
South Korea, does recognise the right for a country to defend itself. But does want to emphasize that there are alternative means. North Korea our neighbour, has more than ever increased its desire for nuclear armament. Again this has not helped, and thus again brought instability within the South-East Asian region.

Apart from 1 arguement i.e Defense, what other purpose or need does Germany require of nuclear missiles?

Germany understands that alternatives to nuclear weapons do exist. It shall try to reach an agreement with NATO that offers it protection/retaliatory power in the case of a nuclear attack. If it cannot reach an agreement with NATO, it shall pursue its own nuclear program.
The purpose of nuclear weapons is to act as a deterrent and to be used in response to an attack by a state-supported terrorist organisation.
Yes, we do understand that having nuclear weapons can act as a deterrent. However South Korea disagrees with Rupert Scholz (former german defence minister) comments. It would like to remind that Germany is a signatory of the NPT, and that it is annoyed at its stance and opposition to the UK's push to have Iran referred to the United Nations Security Council.

Russia would like to dissuade Germany from developing nuclear weapons. As a Western country with no nuclear-armed foes, it should be happy with where it is and not compete for MAD.

Plus, we are worried about the stability of the Bundestag and it's relations with Russia and its allies.

Germany does indeed understand this and will endeavor to find an alternative. To this end it shall hold meetings with NATO and other such organisations. What Iran did was different though. Iran stopped UN Inspectors, held an ambigious aim and threatened to destroy israel. Germany shall not commit any of these crimes.

Germany understands Russia's concern and welcomes the advice. Although Germany was without any enemies it is concerned that it may have some countries against it, whom it would not like to name at the moment. Recently, Germany was elemental in forwarding a country to the security council that may possess nuclear weapons. Some other counties, in Asia, possess nuclear warheads and are unstable. Germany sees this as a potential nuclear threat. Also, recently an independent newspaper printed some of cartoons that were printed prior in a Danish newspaper. Recalling the killings in Libya, Nigeria and Pakistan over this, Germany believes that it does not have ample defense against such hazards and considers nuclear weapons as being a means to increasing protection of its citizens. Germany is happy to work towards a satisfactory alternative, as it should be cheaper than building nuclear weapons.

Russia hopes that Germany will accept the need for stability in Eastern Europe if both our countries are to be protected?

Yes, South Korea would like to add that the arguement for possessing the nuclear weapons does not bring stability. North Korea's persistent problems in assuming nuclear weapons, has been detrimental to the effect of their economy and has only once again brought instability wihtin the region, since it requires the other side to act accordingly?

i.e so lets just say (extremely hypothetically) that should Russia use that same arguement would you find having nuclear capability justified?

Germany informs both Russia and South Korea that as As Europe's largest economy , and having the 5th highest GPA in the world, it will evaluate the economic feasibility of Nuclear Arms, but preliminarily beleives that it can easily afford the acquiring of Nuclear Arms.

Germany would like to reassure Russia that our relations with Russia will not be hindered by this project at all.
