Germany considers Nuclear Weapons

As a former Defense minister has stated, Germany is considering the development of nuclear weapons to protect itself from potential hazards such as certain terrorist countries that may possess nuclear arms.
At this moment, Germany's nuclear program is at a very nascent stage. There will be numerous discussions with NATO and other organisations before any definitve plan is made. Germany's move was perhaps motivated by the French President Jacques Chirac's to utilise nuclear arms against terrorists.

Chinawould be disapointed if Germany decides to press ahead with the nuclear weapons programme that it is dishonouring it's signature to the NPT. However, with recent good behaviour (WWII was something of a blip on Germany's record) We are confident that Germany poses no immediate threat with nuclear weapons. China asks that Germany confirms this will be used in self defense only if they do go ahead with the proposals.

We are however concerned by the emoticon next to this post's title - Does Germany consider nuclear weapons as "cool"?

Germany confirms to China that the nuclear weapons if built shall only be used in self-defense and in the utmost of need. If Germany is attacked by nuclear is intends to initially implore that NATO defend it. If Germany sees an inadequate action from NATO it shall utilise it's own nuclear weapons, that is, if it makes any.

No (well they are...), it wishes only to appear nonchalant.
The UAE does not believe that even conventional weapons can defeat terrorism, never mind Nuclear warheads. Afterall, terrorists are found in countries around the whole world. For example, if a terrorist strikes in Germany and that terrorist was a Muslim born in the UK, would they justify nuking the UK? Hence, the UAE believes a nuclear weapon as a deterrent is absurd.
I would have thought that any increase in the amount of nuclear weapons in existance would increase the chances of terrorists aquiring them!

China considers Germany to be in good repute not to sell nuclear arms (or any arms for that matter) to terrorists.

Denmarks is rather worried with Germany's desire to create nuclear weapons- past conflicts with Germany have not gone well for us.

New Zealand is slightly concerned with this intention from Germany. We feel that Germany is a responsible country and will deal with all the weapons in its arsenal conscientiously; but we would rather see all nations slowly decrease their stocks of nuclear weapons rather than increasing them.

New Zealand also questions the attitude of Denmark which seem inappropriate due to the amount of time which has since passed and the regime change which has occurred and led to good relations between Germany and Denmark and all other Western Countries.

The Republic of Sierra Leone is concerned about the increasing numbers of nuclear weapons in this world, but reiterates the point that it is a nation's right to own them if they please.

The government of Greece wholly condemns this unnecessary ambition; NATO will protect Germany if required, and thus there is no need for her to pursue nuclear goals.

If Germay is allowed to pursue a nuclear weapons program, Greece sees no reason why it should not do the same

Germany would kindly request that the UAE think in a realistic manner. It is highly unlikely that a normal UK citizen would gain access to nuclear weapons without goverment support. To fire a nuclear arms, there is, I believe, a colossal amount of authorisation required. Germany does not see any potential hazard from independent terrorists, it only feels threatened by terrorist nations.

Germany is apologetic for any past conflicts with Denmark. Germany would like to fully assure Denmark that it will not be threatened by nuclear weapons.

Germany thanks China for its advocative words.

Could Germany signal what it intends to do with the nuclear weapons when/if the terrorist threat is over?

Germany would like to remind Greece that this plan is yet not approved and is only being thought upon. Germany would like to assure Greece that it will hold talks with NATO to see if an alternative to nuclear weapons is feasible.
Japan feels that, as Germany is an upstanding nation in the world, and a peace-loving nation that will only use its nuclear weapons for self-defence, that Germany has every right to develop nuclear weaponry.

It seems highly unlikely that terrorist threats will end. Under the hypothetical situation that there is an end to all terrorist activity, Germany will disintegrate/dispose of its weapons safely. Perhaps it shall utilise the radioactive material in its civilian nuclear power plants (if it can be used).

It could be argued that developing weapons is not a sign of a peace-loving nature.

Germany would like to thank Japan for its warm and supportive gesture.

It could be argued that developing weapons is not a sign of a peace-loving nature.

It could also be argued that nuclear weapons per se, promote peace, as violence against the nation is less likely (fear factor).

This is true, but as long as many major Western nations (such as the UK, US and France) have nuclear weapons, the Republic of Sierra Leone feels it is any other countries right to have them.
