I've an offer for a PhD in maths. I'm leaning towards accepting it, but not totally sure yet.

Molecular Neuroscience. I'm torn between Bristol, and UCL (having just rejected KCL today)

Which way do you find yourself leaning? I'm in Newcastle for university now, but I will be living at home in Bristol next year, so I am a tad biased.

In terms of reputation, they're pretty much the same, although UCL has a slight edge I think. I'd probably be living at home if I chose UCL. I've done my undergrad degree in London so the idea of moving to a new city by myself seems pretty exciting but with greater living expenses though. In terms of the actual course, UCL is more taught whereas Bristol has a greater research element to it, which puts me off a bit. I've heard that Bristol is pretty expensive though, but having dealt with London prices, I should be ok!

Actually, I'm starting to question whether I should even do an Msc at all. Apart from having an interest in the subject, I'm not quite sure why I'm doing it if I'm being completely honest.

I think the new city aspect is appealing, and it's harder to finance a masters degree so I guess it is quite the decision to make, so living at home would pay off in that respect.

Surely you were convinced about doing an MSc before applying right?!!

No I wasn't. I actually thought that I'd just apply whilst I decided what I wanted to do because I had nothing to lose by applying either way (except the £50 that UCL charged me to apply )!

Fair enough, although, charging seems a little strong. I'd choose Bristol just for that!

I've just accepted offer for Systems Neuroscience at Bristol! If you look online you can find a course guide for Molecular Neuroscience - might give you more of an insight into Bristol?

I looked at that and it was quite insightful. Thank you. (although having just had a terrible neuroscience exam today, even the word makes me shudder!)

Experimental psychology!? My undergraduate degree was in Psychology, I thought I was going to do Clinical Psychology but, I was trying to avoid the doing the GRE as much as possible. Otherwise, I would've stayed in Canada.

    Anyways, what's PG?

I've recently decided to confirmed on my offer at Bristol for MA Law. It was either that or Birmingham...I should've applied to other schools like Edinburgh or UCL if only I knew about them (I'm an international student!).
