Re: Bristol postgraduates 2012/13What's the offer?(Original post by *Rouge*)
I've received an offer but can't decide whether to take it or not!
-
Re: Bristol postgraduates 2012/13Which way do you find yourself leaning? I'm in Newcastle for university now, but I will be living at home in Bristol next year, so I am a tad biased.(Original post by *Rouge*)
Molecular Neuroscience. I'm torn between Bristol, and UCL (having just rejected KCL today)

Re: Bristol postgraduates 2012/13In terms of reputation, they're pretty much the same, although UCL has a slight edge I think. I'd probably be living at home if I chose UCL. I've done my undergrad degree in London so the idea of moving to a new city by myself seems pretty exciting but with greater living expenses though. In terms of the actual course, UCL is more taught whereas Bristol has a greater research element to it, which puts me off a bit. I've heard that Bristol is pretty expensive though, but having dealt with London prices, I should be ok!(Original post by Cookidge)

Actually, I'm starting to question whether I should even do an Msc at all. Apart from having an interest in the subject, I'm not quite sure why I'm doing it if I'm being completely honest.

Re: Bristol postgraduates 2012/13I think the new city aspect is appealing, and it's harder to finance a masters degree so I guess it is quite the decision to make, so living at home would pay off in that respect.(Original post by *Rouge*)

Surely you were convinced about doing an MSc before applying right?!! -
Re: Bristol postgraduates 2012/13No I wasn't. I actually thought that I'd just apply whilst I decided what I wanted to do because I had nothing to lose by applying either way (except the £50 that UCL charged me to apply(Original post by Cookidge)

Re: Bristol postgraduates 2012/13Fair enough, although, charging seems a little strong. I'd choose Bristol just for that!(Original post by *Rouge*)

Re: Bristol postgraduates 2012/13I've just accepted offer for Systems Neuroscience at Bristol! If you look online you can find a course guide for Molecular Neuroscience - might give you more of an insight into Bristol?(Original post by *Rouge*)

Re: Bristol postgraduates 2012/13I looked at that and it was quite insightful. Thank you. (although having just had a terrible neuroscience exam today, even the word makes me shudder!)(Original post by Vousden)

Re: Bristol postgraduates 2012/13Experimental psychology!? My undergraduate degree was in Psychology, I thought I was going to do Clinical Psychology but, I was trying to avoid the doing the GRE as much as possible. Otherwise, I would've stayed in Canada.(Original post by PsycMike)

Anyways, what's PG? -
Re: Bristol postgraduates 2012/13(Original post by Cookidge)
Hi, just submitted my application to study for a MA in History.
Any other prospective postgraduates?
I've recently decided to confirmed on my offer at Bristol for MA Law. It was either that or Birmingham...I should've applied to other schools like Edinburgh or UCL if only I knew about them (I'm an international student!).
