Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIILooking forward to a fantastic game of football tbh(Original post by jackf1337)
You guys are up against us tomorrow (the terrible Aston Villa). How're you feeling?
-
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIICarroll will probably be sold to Stoke or someone too. He's ****.(Original post by Jim-Jam)
Yeah, we all know he's worse than Carroll.
Seriously, if Carroll achieves half of what Dirk has here, it'll be ok. But he won't. I could name 50+ players I'd rather have than him. That's the modern 'King' Kenny.
We won't get anywhere using Kuyt on the wing in the long term. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIYou can't say Kuyt has been good just because he's been better than Carroll. That's hardly an accomplishment. Also, Kuyt has two league goals while Andy Carroll has 3. Can you tell me the difference? There is none. Fact of the matter is, all of our attacking players have been woeful in front of goal this season. This is why our top scorer is Suarez and Bellamy with 6 goals apiece. Not even in double figures. Awkward.(Original post by Jim-Jam)
You guys are seriously telling me you think 8th place is 'progress' after spending £100+ million? Why would Kenny still be in a job when we're in our worst league position in PL memory?
Worst league run in 59 years. That's all.
I think you're the clueless one tbh mate.

What is with the Kenny aggression all of a sudden? All we said was that Joe Cole was not a good player like you say and Kuyt will not be a big loss, like you say.
Just cos he's kept us in the cups doesn't mean much. We've been a different team in the cups. Man for man. Even Downing has a couple of goals and assists in the FA cup alone.
I think we need to offload Kuyt and Carroll and get in two strikers who will get 20 a season. Then add a playmaker ala Modric and a couple of good wingers, on either side. An extra DM would be nice. I don't know if we'll get any of this though. My gut tells me we'll sign an average striker and an okay winger.
In an ideal world i'd like us sign 6 new players. Just won't happen though. And even if we did, there would be little chance we'd get them all right. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIILiverpool 0-3 Aston Villa, LFC to get lots of pen shouts, some given, some not. those given will be missed. dalglish to leave it very late for subtitutions and then a lot of fans will want kenny's head and some fans will still say that they have improved when its obvious they havent(Original post by jackf1337)

Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIII think we've actually been worse than Villa recently. The form guide certainly says so. It's gonna be a terrible game of football. I think it'll end up 0 - 0 because Liverpool will be **** scared of losing, we'll try not to concede at all costs and because of this we won't score.(Original post by jackf1337)

Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIII was being sarcastic, haha.(Original post by jackf1337)
You reckon? We're both in woeful form
It's seriously going to be a dire, dire game. A pissed off home crowd won't help matters either. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIIf only... I can't see us scoring 3 goals. We've a severely depleted squad.(Original post by lol_this)

The form guide suggests you've been slightly worse but in all fairness we've been as bad as each other.(Original post by lifeshard)

I reckon you might edge it 1-0. Although I had a dream we won 2-1 with 2 in stoppage time.
I thought as much. It's sure to be interesting.(Original post by Pn94)

Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIImaybe not here, but there has been everywhere else.
I think the FA cup will and should determine Kenny's future don't win it and he should be sacked doesn't matter if it'll upset some fans, there were some upset fans when rafa was sacked, when Roy was sacked, so of course there'll be when kenny is sacked. top players look at league form as well as trophies, and with kenny i can't see this happening.
maybe John Henry is already thinking to sack kenny maybe but just looking at the fa cup which I think will come to an end next Sat. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIINot too sure tbh, game on Tuesday as well so could be quite a mixed line up. I'm just hoping we throw in a few youngsters.(Original post by jackf1337)

Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIWe've got so many injuries. I can't even remember them all. I know Petrov, Bent, Dunne, Jenas won't play.(Original post by Pn94)

Cuellar, Clark, N'Zogbia, Gardner are also probably out. I think Hutton is now fit. Really hope Lichaj starts. The first 11 will probably pick itself. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIWe were upset when Rafa was sacked because he got sold down the ****ing river by that pair of muppets purporting to be our owners. He defended the club to the very end, any "fans" who think otherwise might as well support United for all I care.(Original post by lol_this)

The less said about Woy the better. -

It makes me so sad that you are blatantly a massive wum and yet I can see this being correct..

Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIThe difference? Andy Carroll hasn't won Liverpool a match. He's only ever scored in matches where other players have. Kuyt has. As I said, with the cups etc.(Original post by lifeshard)

Yeah, but it won't happen. We won't be able to get anybody of quality and will have to make do again. This is called decline, and since we're not improving on that, get used to it. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIThat's the one. He's suffered with injury all season but scored in his two starts (v Hereford and Chelsea). Not bad for a RB. He also has a Rory Delap esq throw which earned him an assist v Chelsea. Definitely one to watch. Better than the crap full backs we have in Warnock and Hutton.(Original post by Pn94)

Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIWow, talk about over doing it.(Original post by Jim-Jam)

How do you know we can't get anybody of quality? If Newcastle can, of course we can.
I saw something on a Liverpool forum and I thought it was a good way to get people to calm down. These things take time.
ManCity in 2008/9 signed Bellamy, Given, Kompany, De Jong, Wright-Phillips & Robinho. Heavy investment and finished 10th.
Just like we have signed Carroll, Suarez, Downing, Henderson, Adam, Bellamy, Doni & Enrique we are somewhat comparable in that we are going through a phase of transition, much the same as Manchester City after their first real investment under new ownership. We look set to finish 7th - 12th with maybe (fingers crossed) a cup double.
In 2009/10 they signed , Adam Johnson, Viera, Lescott, Kolo Toure, Adebayor, Tevez, Santa Cruz & Barry. Some big names in there. Yes money talks but if FSG are serious about breaking our Premier League drought as they did with the Boston Red Sox and their World Series drought, they will have to give big wages to big names. I think last summer we just cut down on giving big wages to players who just aren't involved that much. FSG signed us for their own advantage, they know Champions League football and a succesful club is where the financial benefits lay. I don't doubt that they will give Kenny the funds needed to achieve this. If they don't trust Kenny with the money, then they will sack him. Bit stupid to keep in a manager if you don't trust him to take the club forward and do what it is necessary. In 2009/10, Manchester City finished 5th.
In 2010/11 they signed Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko (January). They finished 3rd with an FA cup.
Last summer they've signed Kun Aguero, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri and look set to finish 2nd.
This is what the post said, more or less. Now i'm not saying that this means I think we've made good progress. In my opinion we've gone backwards since last season. There's no point really making any esxuses and we really should have done better this season. But maybe we can think there's a bigger picture? I don't know.
This summer will tell us all we really need to know to be honest.Last edited by lifeshard; 06-04-2012 at 22:40.
