Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIII think he was hired under Benitez era as reserve/youth goalkeeper and has since been promoted to first team coach. Why is it a problem? Just because he wasn't a high profile player doesn't mean he can't be a good coach..?(Original post by Pn94)
I can't believe John Achterberg is our GK coach, an ex-Tranmere keeper ffs. He should be gone next hopefully. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIITrust me, us Arsenal fans are as shocked as you are when it comes to the Podolski deal. We don't usually buy proven European talent.(Original post by Zerforax)
What on earth is that meant to mean? Maybe they expected Comolli to be further along in signings/targets? For example Arsenal have sorted Podolski, who could have been useful for us.
It looks like the comment itself is directed at improving depth. If so, that is the completely wrong way to go about it. Personally, the first team still needs some improvement. However, you still need depth as Lucas' and Agger's replacements in the squad haven't been good enough and you've suffered. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIExactly what I was thinking.(Original post by L18)
Another Purslow masterclass.
No coincedence Pepe has gone to **** since Valero left.
He's a big downgrade. Surely for a top class keeper you need a top class coach? Playing for Tranmere & having no proper coaching experience beforehand yet hiring him is a dodgy decision. We could do so much better.(Original post by Zerforax)

"Liverpool's Head of Sports Science and Medicine - Australian Peter Brukner has also left the club."
I wonder if he was blamed for Carroll? We would've given Carroll a medical before signing - made a judgment on when he would be back in the side. He didn't end up playing much at all last season and it's only now that Carroll looks like he's getting up to sharpness. Obviously a massive blunder initially and not being able to get Carroll up to speed since. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIMmm fair point - probably another excuse to cut costs by Purslow in the first place.(Original post by Pn94)

Plus sending two players back onto the pitch who had ligament damage. (That was probably his team though) -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIWhere are those rumours coming from?(Original post by Pn94)
Achterberg's gone apparently.
Plenty of rumours about David Dein. He's been at our last two games.. interesting. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VII
Such a weird day, such weird timing for you.
I feel for brad jones because, whatever you think of john achterberg's credentials, this is a massive week for him, the last thing he needs is such a disruption like losing his coach who he'll be used to
I have a suspicion that your owners are about to wipe the slate clean (including dalglish), and he could well go after Saturday. But they aren't wanting to be too disruptive to the first team before the game.
Thoughts? -

But there are pics of him at our last two games. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIhttps://twitter.com/#!/liam_tomkins/...97787861934080lawyer Natalie Wignall sacked. NEXT.
I wonder who Lord Henry and Lord Werner will go for next. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIYeah, we need someone like him.(Original post by Darth Vader 7)
He'll do great things for you guys if he does join as a director. Amazing man for Arsenal.
She actually is(Original post by Mess.)
Perhaps she was part of the legal team who drafted our PR statements
What a day of ridiculous back room turmoil a couple of days before a semi final
. No wonder.
I'm glad FSG are bringing their own people in tbh. -

She must be an idiot.
I imagine there will be a few more American faces about the place but as long as they are highly competent then I'll be happy.
. No wonder.
