What a goal by Suarez that was. Doesn't beat Alonso because his was in our half. But what a good way to score his first hat-trick! Fully deserved that by him.
So now 2 hat-tricks by Gerrard and Suarez...why do these come late in the season?
Well what would you say the chant is referring to then? The obvious thing will be the whole Suarez/Evra racism crap. So for us to 'always be the victims' and for it to 'never be our fault' then there clearly must be more than one incident being referred to.
To say that the chant holds no allusion to Hillsborough is naive at best.
Mostly little things like claiming referees are corrupt, teams roll over for united, the media is against liverpool etc etc. The racism thing did highlight it perfectly though with lots of liverpool fans moaning of unfair treatment by the FA. And then again with handshake gate, where according to lots of liverpool fans poor luis offered his hand to Evra who refused and then Suarez got all the blame. There is definitely a victim mentality among liverpool fans.
1st goal was almost Torres-esque and the 3rd like Xabi Alonso. Felt the team played well as a whole. Except Downing. Downing can piss off next season.
Whenever I have watched LFC play, you always seem to dominate games - on this occasion you dominated whilst taking your chances against a lesser opposition. Do u think u can contend for top 4 next season with a few quality signings?
I really dislike that 'never the victim' chant. I don't expect intelligence from any football supporter, least of all those who support what is essentially a Championship club, but I would expect some sort of empathy and understanding from them as human beings.
The chant is not about Hillsborough mate. Why would we respect a minutes silence for Hillsborough and then proceed to sing songs about it?
It refers to many things but not Hillsborough. It's probably that type of attitude that affects people's attitudes about the justice campaign in other parts of the country.
