Whealen should shut his ****ing trap. Not his business to air in public.

Ah dw realized what you were talking about. This stuff always happens tbh, gotta expect it now a days. Mancini did the same with Tevez didn't he?Last edited by So Instinct; 17-05-2012 at 22:56. -

Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIThe Wigan chairman revealed Liverpool made an approach on Thursday afternoon and he gave Martínez permission to speak with them. "When they phoned me I was actually with Roberto having a meeting on what we are doing next season," he said.(Original post by So Instinct)
What happened and who is Whealen?
"I did promise Roberto and I have always said when a big club comes he would have permission to talk to them and they don't come any bigger than Liverpool.
"I gave him permission and he will be talking to them soon - I don't know when, but quite soon. When Liverpool sacked Kenny I have to say I thought Liverpool would be knocking on the door and sure enough they are. -

Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIYou're only learning this now?(Original post by TM94)
There is no chance of Pep Guardiola going to liverpool, he's insisted on going on a break for a year.
The media are so thick. -

Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIII didn't expect any managerrial movement until this point but not sorting out all of the corporate side as soon as they started sacking people is criminal.(Original post by So Instinct)
Thing is you say that, but they started as soon as the season ended.
They couldn't have shifted people any earlier, otherwise with no manager and Clarke would have resigned who would of managed the club in a game? I guess Clarke wouldn't resign straight away and would stay for the game but I would still prefer them to have waited it out like they did.
You might say they could of started interviewing managers faster and what not or made a plan earlier but you know how it is these days if they are spotted with anyone or anything is leaked it pretty much makes everyone lose their nut, we didn't need that it was bad enough. Stay out of the papers, seeing us all the time is making me want to rage because it's always so negative.
I honestly have high hopes with them as I said in a post earlier to Jimjam. We are lucky to have them they could create something great. They have done everything well so far for me, lets just hope they don't **** up all the good work with the wrong manager.
I wanted Benitez and I still do, but if you step back and look at the situation I think it does look good for AVB, been reading stuff on AVB and he seems like very smart and tactical minded. Both of them would make me happy so I have no preferences.
Mind you though Benitez doesn't have chance on his side, what's the chance he will come back and be great again. Not saying it won't happen since records are their to be broken and what not but seems unlikely even though he looks good for the job. -
Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIAll they've is that he will be approached. No lies in that.(Original post by TM94)

Hasn't Whelan got previous with this? Didn't he essentially say the same things last year when Villa were in for Martinez?

Re: The Liverpool FC Thread VIIThey don't wanna listen to the fans. They won't want to make the tough decision of sacking another high profile manager who's respected by the fans if things goes wrong next season or they'll lose the confidence of the fans even more. Look how badly the backlash was for dalglish, if that happens to rafa what next? They'll be saying FSG out soon enough despite them stabilizing the club.(Original post by Pn94)
If Rafa really is being overlooked despite Martinez and Rodgers being contacted then that is a joke.
I want wigan to stay with martinez, he can do well with them. He's making progress, slowly but surely.Last edited by jam277; 17-05-2012 at 23:41.
