Just a rumour, nothing in it. Logistically its impossible because we were all escorted to the right and down around Stanley Park, nobody was allowed to turn off to the left (where the memorial is situated) after the game.

Any trouble before/after the game?

Not that I saw. Both sides were mixing in Lime Street before the game no trouble. Merseyside police, to their credit, did a good job of keeping the fans apart after the game and were pretty laid back. Today the cops were quite happy to have a bit of banter with us and let us sing what we wanted while they walked us, totally defused any situations. Vast contrast to Leeds away where the inept policemen were stirring aggro up by pulling random fans aside for singing.

Im sure I'll probably hear off mates eventually that it kicked off somewhere but for the most part it was waaaay calmer than I expected from such a high risk game.

Good to hear, no-one wants an Everton Valley round 2 or something.

Surprised you got the train though, but as long as there was a strong police presence I suppose it's alright..

I wouldnt say no-one, I know quite a few lads who'd be delighted if it all kicked off. I just leave em too it tbh, dont get involved! Usually get the train to aways and try to avoid getting in the escort because I like to be able to wander around and try out different pubs and see things in the local area, its part of the fun having a mooch about. As long as we stay quiet and keep ourselves to ourselves for the most part we can do it and be fine with the home fans.

Only downside today was the escort route took forever! Sunny day, full of beer and they walk us right to the bottom of Stanley Park, around Goodison, back up past Anfield and then all the way up the main road to the town centre. Knackered by the time we got to Lime Street after an hour or so walking! Cardio training Merseypolice style.

Was just about to post this.

I'm not the biggest of Carroll fans, but I'm definitely not a fan at all of Tevez. It's disgraceful how he holds his club for ransom.

Although, we need goals, and he can score them - so a loan option would be welcome. :colondollar:

I imagine such a long walk is probably to tire some people out and to allow the adrenaline to subside. Sounds like the police did a good job today all round though which is good to hear.

Did anybody else find it weird that after we scored our first goal by cowding around De Gea we then played every other corner away from him and didn't cover him with 3 players.

Yes, I was wondering that too.

Maybe if we scored two goals from corners people will have labelled us as corner cheats. (FM joke :colondollar:)

Suppose there's always a few on both sides who want a scrap.

I've done that walk from LS to Anfield instead of getting a bus/cab. It does take about an hour tbf, must've been crap after that result.

Hillsborough chants from what people are saying was the majority of your fans were disgusting.

Aye, good point. It certainly drained me of the energy to do very much of anything but slump in a seat on the train and hyperventilate half way back to Manchester.

Some "high risk" away grounds when we go put shuttle buses on from the stadium to the station and escort them with police motorbikes when its that long. The police did well to stay on top of it all today, only two arrests in total so far been reported and both for low level incidents.

It wasn't as bad as it couldve been, the police were chatty and being nice to us and we were in a decent mood all singing and having a bit of banter with any locals we passed by, all harmless stuff. Only downside was the sun right in our eyes! Same problem during the game too, was being blinded all second half.

Wasn't a majority singing those songs but I reckon about 20-30% of the crowd. Not a great image for us really but it was pretty much exactly what I expected going in.

Incidentally during the first half I looked across and saw some guy doing the airplane gesture and the lad next to him grabbed him and had a right go at him for it. Fair play to whoever that was!

We had one or two corners which were then blown by the whistle for fouls. Also he flapped at a couple of other deliveries. I think the idea was to try and force him to come out and jump for the ball, in order to induce another but different mistake.

I'd say it was definitely the majority.

Looking at the BBC sport homepage you wouldn't think that we had just knocked United out of the cup, all I can see is something on De Gea and something about the fan that was arrested
