has anyone else got into Hope tro study secondary? Especially RE?

I need to pass my AMFIT which i have already been studying hard for and I am on course to pass

Hello! I've applied to Hope to do the RE and Philosophy PGCE and have just found out I've got an interview soon congrats on getting your place! What's the interview like?? I'm so nervous but excited too!

Hi Laura,

The interview was pretty relaxed. Joy (the head of PGCE RE) and the lady who interviews with her are lovely and make you feel very relaxed. My interview was my presentation and then some questions.
Questions were things such as
1) tell us about what modules you studied and which ones you feel you know best in RE and what religion do you need more work on.
2) questions about observations such as how you would calm a class down who didnt want to know and who said RE was not important
all obvious questions and nothing sticky or nasty in there. Just everything you would expect.
Despite what the letter says about being all day. I got there for 9 and there was 5 of us having interviews. We were all done by 11.30!!

Hey! Congrats on your offer! I have been offered a conditional place at Liverpool Hope to study a secondary PGCE in Geography! Have you recieved a letter starting your conditions yet? I am still waiting and got offered my place middle of Dec.

I got a letter telling me to check GTTR to see my conditions. I know mine is to pass my AMFIT maths but that wasnt mentioned on GTTR so I am a little confused!

I rang the uni and they said they sent me a letter on 15th of Dec but I never got it and I still have not recieved the letter they said they would post last week?! GTTR tells me to refer to the letter for conditions, so now I'm confused?!

I had my offer Thurs 15th Dec for PGCE Performing Arts, and still haven't had a letter stating the conditions either!
Do you know what you're doing about accommodation??

Thank you and congrats on your offer too! I need to ring the uni again and ask them to send me another letter I think. Well I am going over to the open evening on 1st March and I will be viewing the accommodation. I intend to live on campus for the year as I have no clue how to go about finding a house and it would be much too expensive renting on my own! Plus I would prob meet more PGCE students in the postgrad halls! What about you?

I think I will probably do the same to be honest! Be more socialable and as you say, cheaper. You thinking St Michael's?

yeah it would be cheaper and more sociable I've no idea what the name of the accommodation is as the website just gives a list of them all but does not specify which one is for postgrad! Are you going to the open day or have you already seen and picked your accommodation?

I am currently looking at PGCE's for 2012/13 and am considering Liverpool Hope. I was wondering if you had any insights to the course? What was it like? What were placements like? Was it the most difficult year of your life? etc.

Also, I noticed you applied to complete your PGCE with Philosophy, what was this like?

Just to let you know, if you are thinking of applying now for this year's intake, it might be worth giving them a call first to see if they are places left.
Also, I had to decline an offer from Titan Partnership in PGCE RE, so I know they are looking to fill in that place.
