January exams, I'm sure many of you have had them, and still are in the process of having them.
Now, many of you have posted threads about failing an exam, or you didn't think you've done well enough to get into the University of your dreams even course.
What angers me is many of you are listening to all these students putting you down and you're giving up. Let me just give you a successful story. My sister failed her first year of A-levels many have, she resat the whole year, achieved 3 As and 1 B. Applied for Maths and she didn't give up and applied to some of the most prestigious universities in EU such as Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, Bristol, Manchester.
She got an offer from 4/5, she didn't quite get Cambridge but they "pooled" which shows a sign that they did take some interest in her. In the end she went into Imperial and got 2 A*s 2 A's overall. (A* in Maths, Further Maths, A in Biology and Sociology)
I hope this motivated you and gave you some motivation to fight back.
Let's get to some few pointers now, Universities don't always mind you retake, this view where all medical applicants shouldn't retake isn't the case. They may not like it but majority of the students have to retake exams. It's turning into a common thing now with introducing A*s. This is my advice don't give up, if you fail an exam COME BACK HARDER PREPARED. Many talk about the difficulty of A-levels, this doesn't mean you wont be able to cope with it because as you age your academic studies will increase in difficulty. Just because it's difficult doesn't mean you can't do it.
I thought some of these quotes may help you, they express it better then I can:
Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.
Thomas JeffersonThey can because they think they can.The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack in will.Guys, feel free to add quotes or ways that motivated you.
Study smart guys, not a lot.
When you study: make sure you're understanding what is happening not just remembering it, this will be more beneficial in the long run. Please, don't hesistate to ask me any questions, I'll be more then happy too help you. .
GIVE GIVING UP!
