Re: Why does he smell so awesome???
Question:
I think you can smell sweaty and be attractive, I was talking to my friend's girlfriend ages ago, and she said she likes it when he smells of B.O. because he has a nice scent. Basically the question is, does anyone think everyone's own unique scent will appeal to somebody, or that only a small few people actually have a scent that can smell nice to people and most people's scent will just smell dirty, like they haven't washed?
Because I saw an experiment before, where they got these men to go paintballing in clean clothes after having a shower but not using any soap or anything smelly, then the women were told to pick the one that smelled the best, they smelled all of their shirts and most of them went for the same shirt, they said the reason for this might have been down to his immune system, thus better genetics for breeding hence why the women all liked the smell. -

There is a guy in my class and he smells really good...
His smell lingers, even if he sits behind me i come to know without looking... Day before yesterday I was picking something up, i was bent so i did not see who passed beside me (And I didn't care) but then I recognised his smell so i looked up and by the time he had already reached the classroom door... It confuses
me how does his smell lingers..??? considering that it was really cold that day and he was wearing a sweater and a blazer (if that matters) And the whole day he smells the same.. doesn't matter if he had played football or poured water on himself.. I know that he doesn't 'bring' any deodrant or scent to school (thats not allowed) And i want to know if its his natural smell... but how the hell am i gonna find that out...???
Any help would be appreciated
wtf?
weirdo.
good luck on your future career of being a rapist. -

Also, you sound crazy. And it's hilarious how many people are trying to tell you what perfume/cologne he uses based on the assumption that "omg he smells amazing!!!!" According to them, there must be only one that exists that could create such a nice smell.Last edited by sarahthegemini; 01-05-2012 at 14:19. -

It is interesting how/ why this happens what ever it is? Wonder what comes first for some people the attraction or the amazing smell?
Personally someone I'm very attracted to tends to smell of nothing I can put my finger on, but still irresistible. And the smell gives me a familiar and comforting feeling especially when I hug them
I read this somewhere(Original post by gypsyclimber)
I relate to this - my boyfriend's skin is the best smell I have ever encountered and I'm not embarrassed to admit it.
Well..maybe a little bit...
:
It is possible that beauty is not in the eye of the beholder, but rather in the nose of the beholder. We are attracted to certain people of opposite sex because with them we can produce a strong offspring. We find out who will produce these strong offsprings through our noses. For example, when people sweat pheromones are released; revealing their type of immune system. If their immune system is the opposite to the person smelling them, the two will be a good match, and should find each other irresistible. -
Re: Why does he smell so awesome???I'm really glad you brought this up! I actually heard that before that those who naturally smell irresistible are a good genetic/ biological match for making a healthy family with! Makes a lot of sense really.(Original post by Kittythecat)

That quote sums it up much better though! To carry this on... A few years a back I read about the pill effectively altering which kinds of men women find attractive. It seems sight and smell are both affected.
Here are a couple of links on this:
http://www.scientificamerican.com/ar...t-womens-taste
http://www.newscientist.com/article/...ttraction.html
To sum up: The pill....may interfere with women's natural choice of partner. Some studies have suggested that while women usually prefer the scent of men with immune profiles dissimilar to their own, those on the pill preferred men with similar immune profiles.
It makes me wonder if the percentage of genetic/ inherited problems has gone up in correlation with women who use the pill? And what else it might affect?
Either way we obviously cant just follow our noses ladies! -
Re: Why does he smell so awesome???Yeah, the science of attraction is rather attractive isn't it?(Original post by Noirla)

Having a look at all these fascinating reports one feels that the concept of 'arrange marriage' or matrimonials is so impractical!! -

Re: Why does he smell so awesome???Insects do, as well as other animals. I've learnt rather extensively about pheromones in a unit as part of my neuroscience course. Especially in mice and rats, so they do exist/take effect in some mammals.(Original post by SnoochToTheBooch)
yeah as far as I'm aware humans don't have them? I thought it was just an insect thing.
Not really in humans, though. Human behaviour is far too complex to really be influenced by any pheromone. Besides, the vomeronasal organ (used to detect pheromones in animals) simply does not exist in humans.
The sense of smell, however is very evocative and can profoundly influence emotions. Infatuation with someone's smell is a common part of attraction ^_^. -
Re: Why does he smell so awesome???it's powerful isn't it. it gets overlooked because you can't see it, but so true.(Original post by LemonPi)
