Hi guys for depression do you think I can just learn all of the past questions because one of the are likely to come up again... Right??

Correct me if I'm wrong but not everything has come up for depression yet, Classification for example, hasn't (that's what I'm praying does come up)

I'm learning essay plans for every single topic and praying research methods is kind !

Yeah I agree. Everything has come up and I think classification is highly likely too. I'm worried about how much to write depending on the marks sometimes the Q. is huge other times it's only like 8 marks

    Classification has actually.

Total for this question: 25 marks
Outline clinical characteristics of depression. (5 marks)
Explain issues associated with the classification and/or diagnosis of depression.
    (10 marks) - January 2010.

Classification isnt that bad which makes me happy :') For the 8 markers I tend to write just under a page but I have big writing As long as you only take the allocated time for the question I can see you going wrong though

For schizophrenia there are only these areas we need to know right?
    - Characteristics
    - Classification and diagnosis ... issues surrounding this
    - Bio explanations
    - Psychological explanations
    - Bio therapies
    - Psychological therapies
And an essay can come up on any of these topics ... so that is only like 6 possible ones?
Am so silly for leaving revision so late but just found it so hard to do this and unit 3 resit at the same time x

hello everyone. hope you are all prepared for this exam! i have found the learning a lot better than the unit 3 (which i sat yesterday)

i was going to ask (and its probably stupid but im self-taught so i have no idea)
do we have to know the tests (spearmans rho, wilcoxon etc) off by heart and have to be able to replicate them in the exam? or will we be given the formulas and be asked to calculate something using them- OR do we just have to know what experiments they are applicable to?

also, is anyone doing anomalistic? any predicitions?

Is there a proper term for a treatment that reduces symptoms NOT the actual disorder/illness?
I think paliative, the opposite is curative which cures it

You do not need to be able to do the tests, you do however, need to be able to interpret the results; so they might give you the x value from a chi-square and ask you to find the critical value from a provided table and interpret the results. You need to know when to use the tests and whether they are correlation and things like that.
That's what I've been taught anyway

    Any predictions for Schizophrenia?

I'm thinking Psychological explanation or 2 + therapies

    Attachment 156278

Here's the average marks needed per Q (excluding the fact RM is out of 35 and the others 24) to get each grade
So could i minus 3 from the numbers before jan 2012? does that make sense?

I'm confused with the comments about the use of IDA's in section A/B. One report from AQA suggests we only use them in section B, yet another says we don't use them at all?!

My teacher would murder us if we didn't use any IDA's, someone help?
