Re: AQA GCSE Biology Unit 2 (B2) 24 January 2012 exam discussion24 for an A* /:(Original post by matty123)
Grade boundy predictions, bearing in mind that the last exam was 26 for an A*... and this one was much harder than the last one? -
Re: AQA GCSE Biology Unit 2 (B2) 24 January 2012 exam discussionHmmm. truee this paper was a mess!(Original post by Brooke789)
None of the questions actually seemed relevant - i was ready to right down a load of facts and draw genetic diagrams but they just seemed to want us to comment on experiments - it wasn't like any of the past papers i've done

Re: AQA GCSE Biology Unit 2 (B2) 24 January 2012 exam discussion
Right guys.. Im thinking 28 for a star and 32 for 100 ums!!!! I hope we all get 100 ums although the exam was soooooooo soooooo difiicult

i checked all the questions with my teacher and even he was confused about the a/b question.. he eventually said it is b. the enzymes question was 11.6- stays the sameLast edited by Lae; 24-01-2012 at 16:19. -
Re: AQA GCSE Biology Unit 2 (B2) 24 January 2012 exam discussionI put B too...but it was more of a last minute assumption.(Original post by Subhaan120)
I put B for the reoson above ^ i think we might get the mark whether it be A or B but this paper was well and truely confusing and different from all the other papers so fingers crossed the grade boundries should be low!
I really need the grade boundaries to me quite low - otherwise I'll never get my target grade.
I spent the entire weekend revising everything as well o.o
Sad times.
I thought that paper - June 2011 was quite easy but the grade boundaries were low(Original post by Zigggyy.)
Yeah, hopefully it's a two answers thing. It was horrible ): I was ready to talk about Mendel and draw Punnett squares, gah, stupid aqa! I hope they're low, the June 2011 paper was 26 for an A* so fingers crossed!
But now I thought this paper was hard, its probs gonna have really high grade boundaries.>< -
Re: AQA GCSE Biology Unit 2 (B2) 24 January 2012 exam discussion
The papers wasn't particularly difficult, it was slightly above average imo.
What made it annoying though, was the amount of experimental questions asked, and the very last question... When will AQA learn that the best way to piss people off is to include a 5 mark ethics questions.
If any of you want to compare answers etc, feel free to quote me

Re: AQA GCSE Biology Unit 2 (B2) 24 January 2012 exam discussionI agree i'm so annoyed that mostly all were data questions(Original post by flumpyfi)
It would have been so much easier if it was all fact-base rather than retrieving information from ****ty data tables. ARRGH. I really hope the mark scheme's low.

Re: AQA GCSE Biology Unit 2 (B2) 24 January 2012 exam discussionI just put "like the diagram shows" LOL xD(Original post by surfingtom)
the one about how the chemicals in DNA came together - and then to use the diagram?
Whats A* going to be then? o.o(Original post by Subhaan120)
I think the grade boundries will be these judging by the paper today:
9 = D
16 = C
20 = B
25 = A -
Re: AQA GCSE Biology Unit 2 (B2) 24 January 2012 exam discussionWhy?(Original post by Lae)
