Hi, I know manual dexterity is something which is of great importance in dentistry and I was wondering how many problems left-handed people face when on the course as I hear all the equiptment is designed for right handers?

Maybe I'm wrong, could anyone tell me if im going to face problems

I don't know a lot about dentistry, but I can tell you that whoever is running the course would be in a whole lot of trouble if they disadvantaged you by not providing sufficient equipment!

Nurse I did work experience with worked with worked with another dentist who was left handed she said everything is just on the other side of the chair

A number of people on my course in my year and upper years are left handed. Its fine

Remember, everyone is born right-handed, it's only the gifted ones who overcome it

Plenty of lefties on my course but made jobs more difficult to find as not all practices have leftie chairs

Best friend is a left-handed dental student. Slightly difficult at first, but he's ambidextrous now, and is genuinely epic on clinics :P
