Pros: The new African music coming out is quite alright! Wizkid and Dbanj and all them

Jellof rice is never far away

Cons: Having to greet every single adult at a party or gathering, even the ones you don't know

Being put down for not knowing how to speak your parents language

Being told I can't have a boyfriend till I'm married (I'd already had like 3 anyway lol)

I know! Even if you were starving/thirsty at somebody else's house, you had to front like you had just ate a frikkin buffet and downed litres of coke. I would just be like 'Aunty, no thank you, I'm fine'. But inside, I'm like "FEED ME BITCH!"
    loool.
    ahh lol :')
    Ah have you eatten ?
Yes auntie, thank you - i just ate.

    *looks to the side*
Lol yes, but no- could never eat food from them - there could be poison! :L LOL

The food, music and 'parries' are AMAZING, nothing like it.

    My all time favourite:

One thing that annoys me though, is calling everyone aunty or uncle. I once called a white woman aunty and everyone just looked at me like I was mental ahaha

When people say do u remember me? I carried you when u were 2years old. In my head I'm like no dimwit

Mastering clicking your fingers when you shake someones hand , if you can't you are a failure.

You have party favours around the house e.g a mug with 'Joyce's 50th birthday'

    Everyone is Auntie and Uncle

Your mum has a big pot that covers all the hobs

pros: SOME of the food (jollof rice, yam pottage, peppersoup, ewa (beans), etc)

cons: SOME of the food (e.g. eba. more eba. I HATE EBA!)

other pros: family, banter, music, dressing up for church, languages, being able to lmao at nollywood, being able to rejoice when 'NEPA' brings electricity, etc

I'm Egyptian, so I don't know if you guys will count me as African or not. I know that culture in the North of Africa e.g. Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Tunisia etc... is more closely linked to the Middle East so I won't talk about culture.

However... I LOVE THE AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS. Makes me so proud, mostly because we win it a lot Although didn't qualify this year

    African Music is brilliant

Hate - Pressure on focussing on school work and exams so much. It can get a little much, although I do understand it and I'm glad I feel pressured to work.

I think the close-knitted culture is definetly a positive one.

Being hated on by other Africans for not being African enough. Most East Africans get this

Having 90r8374853624 cousins all over the world
    This!

    I would also add

Knowing your ancestors' names dating centuries back (good)

    Food (good and bad )

    Beats

    Tight communities (good)
