    University of Northampton
Hi everyone my dream is to become a solicitor. I want to study at Northampton (due to personal issues I cannot discuss, sorry ). Anyway, I am aware that it is currently ranked 89 out of 94, for universities that offer law.

As it is ranked this low, will this affect my chances of becoming a solicitor? I am confused, but it's likely to be Northampton that I'll attend.

So, would I still be able to get a career as a solicitor? Have you, or do you know anyone that has gone to Northampton to study law?

    THANKS!

You've got to remember that the University of Northampton got is full University status about seven years ago.

Personally I'd say go to a few open day that are specialised to the topic you want to study ask a few people about the course and also ask if you could look at example work.

I'm applying for Northampton as well and it's one of my top choices because the work of the graduates and current students is amazing- although I've chosen a more vocational topic.

Oh and it shouldn't affect your chance of becoming a solicitor. It's not all about league tables and a Cambridge education. It's the amount of hard work you put into making you're dream a reality (and that was lame I know but it's true)

Depends where you look... If you use the Guardian's leauge tables it is ranked 70/95. Slightly better?

It's a great university! Just about to head onto my second year, not law though. But have heard great things, it's a shame really because the campus and general attitude (climate?) of the university is relaxed and it's quite a nice place to go to university. I really do believe that it should be ranked higher than it is but being as new as it is oh well I'd also say that this uni puts a lot of effort in with its students and the facilities that are provided. I study at the other campus and the ICT Suites are amazing.. and the building is amazing.. if you need to know anything about Northampton! Let me know

I take it 'comms' means accommodation?
No, it's meant to be opening today and I have NO IDEA what I'm doing so any help would be much appreciated!

Yes. Yeah, I just applied now for Bassett Lowke as my main choice.

Oh dear... everyone seems to be applying to Bassett for single ensuite, now I'm really regretting putting down a twin en-suite as my last choice... I hope they don't put me in there.
