Haha! I did have one less than useful reply too from someone else *mutters*

What with that, my printer won't work and a distinct lack of journal articles I may take myself off to the garden...

Argh, went boating on the Thames on Sat (which was amazing! :captain:) but forgot to apply suncream to an area just below my neck. It is only a small area but it is ridiculously painfully burnt (to the extent of blistering - really unpleasant) and I am extremely annoyed with myself.

I always get burnt, no matter how much sun cream I use, the first day I go to the sea every year. It's like a ritual. I burn and then my skin gets a bit tougher and helps me through the summer.
What helps me when I burn is - I know it sounds funny - yoghurt. I apply some yoghurt on the affected area and it feels a bit better for a while (but attracts flies lol)

I just submitted my dissertation and my two presubmitted essays, so basically 1,66/3 of my degree mark. I'm so scared

I was besieged by a squirrel during an exam invigilation today.:erm: It suddenly appeared on the windowsill halfway through the exam and sat there for ten minutes, watching me and sticking its head in through the window every now and again. Obviously I didn't want to distract the candidate by pointing out the squirrel situation, but I was already trying to come up with ideas how to remove a squirrel from an exam room - and drawing a blank. Luckily it didn't come to that, though, and the squirrel just got fed up eventually.
Craggy says I should just have squealed 'awww cute!!!' to scare it away, so I've made a mental note of that for next time, as a last resort. Not sure what that will do to the poor person writing an exam at the opposite end of the table, though...:p:

Hobnob, you should have employed the Egyptian war dance. All manner of things are scared away by it: small animals, marsupials, women, birds, odours, employment oppurtunities etc. All flee.

I'm not sure how the college would react if I made their student flee halfway through an exam, though...

worse when you're a non- subscriber like me and can only rep I think 5 people a day

Vet called today with the biopsy results - worse than he thought originally  He thinks the cat has about 2 months left. I guess we were kind of resigned to hearing bad news. Well, 2 months of love and cuddles and tuna it shall be.

Sorry to hear about your puss, sj. :hugs:

We just heard that FTB's grandma died today. Her cancer had returned and we had hoped to visit before she passed away - the doctors didn't think it would happen this quickly. She was the sweetest lady. Very sad.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear . :hugs:

Thanks all for your thoughts about us and our little cat. I think we've come to terms with it now. In a way, easier than when our one cat was run over a few years ago. But sad that from 4 cats then we'll soon be down to 2.

Interview at the Beeb done. Did as well as I could but they're interviewing lots of people  Uni presentation to my ethno buddies tomorrow all prepared for. Read it to my mentor and she could understand everything and I didn't speak too fast or mumble, so hopefully should be OK

I was about to post exactly that! I get so many PRSOMs I'm surprised when I'm actually able to rep someone at the first attempt.
Edit: and I was even able to rep you again - amazing. If I hadn't got completely drenched on my way home just now, I'd conclude that this must be my lucky day.
