Wailing email sent to course pathway leader. I'm becoming decreasingly optimistic about my chances of submitting on time
hope things are alright and fingers crossed you'll be able to keep to your current plans.

Re: GOGSoc Episode V: The GOG Strikes BackThanks, ladies. Turns out my brain is still fried from my psychotic breakdown in Oxford, which makes it incredibly hard to be motivated and concentrate on reading. Which is making the writing stage difficult too. FML(Original post by ktr)

Re: GOGSoc Episode V: The GOG Strikes BackThanks
Sorry to be so moody and depressing. It's just I'm the only one out of my friendship group who is still studying. So I just felt like venting here instead of to them
It really does suck though
Admittedly, I was the not-so-bright one out of my tutorial group at Oxford... but I did used to read and write much faster than this! It's just depressing to know that I'm unlikely to ever get that ability back

Re: GOGSoc Episode V: The GOG Strikes BackMe too! Seriously...my old band mates are touring and making lots of money, another friend is now a local counsellor, several of my friends from uni are now in Investment Banks, Law or some other corporate thing....(Original post by The_Lonely_Goatherd)
Thanks

Why on earth are you still studying? I thought Oxford had finished for you?(Original post by The Lyceum)

To be fair, quite a few of my friends did a Masters course of some kind. They just all did it full-time. Whereas I'm "in the slow lane", as my dad likes to call it

And really - the not-so-bright one at Oxford. Right.

Re: GOGSoc Episode V: The GOG Strikes BackYou picked the right time to start the series - a new one came out last week! I tried to buy it last Monday but it wasn't out til Thursday (unsurprisingly!)(Original post by Little Jules)
Can't work out how to find these things on the iPhone app but thank you to whoever persuaded me to read the Eyre Affair! Read it during my 10 hour train journey yesterday (along with two other books!) and have downloaded the next one!

Re: GOGSoc Episode V: The GOG Strikes Back
I'm busy reading Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, and so far its brilliant!
-
Re: GOGSoc Episode V: The GOG Strikes BackIndeed!(Original post by The Lyceum)
Because...I don't know how else to spend my time anymore....
And slow and steady wins the race.

I meant out of myself and my two tutorial partners. One is just a genius and the other has a photographic memory. Compared to them, I looked quite thick at times(Original post by sj27)
We're here to be vented upon
And really - the not-so-bright one at Oxford. Right.

Is that number 7? We are a few days into a 10 day holiday and I suspect I will read them all before the end. We have a few beach days and I suspect I'll need to download a few free classics to avoid spending all my money on amazon!(Original post by Becca)

Re: GOGSoc Episode V: The GOG Strikes BackSame. 'Access to this resource is secured' when I get to the journal page with the individual articles. Perhaps their website is misleading me into thinking that I have access...(Original post by Aeschylus)
Can anyone access this article for me and I will repay you in internet points:
Ian Short, "Another look at 'le faus franceis'" Nottingham Medieval Studies, Brepols (2010).
It tells me I have access but then won't let me look at it "

Re: GOGSoc Episode V: The GOG Strikes BackSounds like a good night, but I'd watch Come Dine with me instead.(Original post by evantej)
My mam has the baby so my girlfriend went out with my sister to the cinema and for a meal/drinks. I ended up having a nap and think I shall go watch an episode of Grand Designs while I have my tea. I sound 48 not 24...
