Salford is a good place to live.
It doesn't look very appealing from Google maps.

    I bloody lol'd at this
The fact that the poster thought terrorism started in 2001 with muslim extremists is pretty laughable.

It's the and largest in population and size, mate.
It's the largest individual city, whereas London is technically a region - the City of London is actually the smallest city and the outlying areas are London Boroughs.

Difficult to say, every town above a certain size has dives and nice parts. Worst place is probably a smaller town/city with not many nice parts, like Corby.

Birmingham isn't that bad, sure it isn't the most picturesque city in the country, I doubt many would choose to visit it and I don't really like it that much, but it's not as bad as some of you are making out! The city centre and some parts like the Jewellery Quarter and Edgbaston are alright. Chelmsley Wood, Alum Rock, Sparkhill are pretty rough though.

Depends what you mean by rough.. I live on a road known for prostitutes and have caught them erm, 'servicing' their clients on our doorstep.

Brixton (London), Toxteth (Liverpool), Moss Side (Manchester), some parts of Birmingham are rough but I don't know the names of the suburbs, and loads of Glasgow is rough!

Why is Brum being said so much? Granted I've not been there too much but when I have it's hardly been horrible.

Worst fairly big city as a whole I can think of is Nottingham.

Tbh, I'd say anywhere where the police cannot control a situation, like a bunch of chavie ***** taking over the council estate and retreating.

Oxford. Specially the area around the university.
Hit me, Iamsoacademic. I know you want to.
Parts of Oxford are quite rough. It was until recently a major factory town and has its areas of deprivation (Blackbird Leys).
