thank you for uploading it, after reading it i still think absorption and ABC will come up and instead of a production budget i reckon a labour will come up again. also i think variances will be there this time sales variances, and calculating provision for unrealised profit will be on there instead of a manufacturing account. but who knows these are my guesses.

    why the negs???

    Absorption costing
Q13.5 Page 327 Osborne Book Solution

    (d) Depending on the method and type of production, the company is most likely to use overhead absorption rates based on direct labour hours, or machine hours.

The OAR selected may vary from one department to another, depending on whether departments are labour-intensive or machine-intensive. The labour hour rate is a popular method because overheads are absorbed on a time basis. However, the machine hour is particularly appropriate where expensive machinery is used in a department.

I would ensure you are familiar with the whole specification as more of it is being examined now rather than just 3/4 topics.

Feeling quite happy about this paper i think its more based on working out figure rather then the representation of information just how i like it. Are these all the major topic or am i missing some:-
    1) Budgeting- Normal, purchase, sales, productions, labour unlikely (Payable/receivable)
    2) Capital Investment - NPV,PAYBACK & DISCOUNTED PAYBACK
    3) Break even and decision making techniques
    4) Manufacturing accounts & unrealized profits
    5) Marginal Absorption and abc costing: Knowing how to absorb and attribute cost to cost center. + knowing the advantages disadvantages to come each of the cost methods. No need to show practice of AB Costing as only understanding of it.
    6)Standard costing and Variance
Plus quite a few marks on written questions?

I feel quite confident about this paper but need at least an A on this after a very difficult retake on accn3 with the 30 mark question. I have 2B for Accn1/2
What are your thoughts about tomorrows paper and if i have missed anything major out of my list can u tell me?

the words that i have bolded do not make sense as you cannot get discounted payback as far as i know for this unit. also what do you mean by "normal"
otherwise you have not missed out any topics except social accounting.

Discounted payback is in this topic is where you have to work out payback in terms of NPV. Normal i mean the cash budget:-

    Inflows
    outflows
    net
    +open
    =closing

Most problematic topic for me is apportioned to cost center with the additions for example floor space or number of employees. And written questions... Apart from that i feel quite up for this.
