I was so confident with this paper as well! Was getting nearly 90 out of 100 for all my past papers but there's no chance of that with this one! So annoyed hopefully we haven't done as bad as we thought we have! I had to think for ages for the variation question, didn't really got what they were talking about until I had a ping moment after having done all the other questions with awesome waffle ness..
^ Hell yes. I hate waffling in exams but there was no way you could write a concise answer for some of those questions. It's gonna be a bloody nightmare for the people who mark our papers :/ and so many people had given up and were sitting with their exam books closed halfway through the exam!!!

And wth was that colorimeter Q about? I'm sure it said how to measure content of reducing sugar WITHOUT a colorimeter? People on the revision thread are saying you COULD talk about a colorimeter??? Aaah so confused...and dont get me started on those FLEXIBLE ENZYMES grrr!

I found the aqa bio exam today pretty hard...
The one thing that I didn't revise came up which was the tissue fluid :/
Hopefully I did okay on it.

Haha today the inviligator said 'the variety of orgasm' instead of 'the variety of organism'

AQA biology people...... how did you find it?
Ugh. Don't think I'll score anywhere near as high as I've been doing on mocks...was getting 140 UMS...going through that paper in my head, I'm holding my breath on even getting an A. So much diversity stuff!! Or so it seemed!! And all the stuff I was really confident on...barely mentioned or not in there at all....*huffs*

Yea I agree. Hm I'd say 65 and 75, although really, I haven't done enough past papers to gauge where it would be on the scale!

And you'd get the marks, don't worry
    I hope so

And the highest it has been before is 62, but i agree, it think it will go up, considering the boundaries seemed to go up for BIOL1 a little bit and that wasnt that easy a paper

I knew tissue fluid And if I don't get all 6 (?) marks for that question I'll cry, was the question I was the most confident on out of everything that came up. Was gutted at the lack of the affect of a change in base sequence though, I have got very good at answering those questions!!

I know what you mean , Id say it was question 9 that messed it up for me, just so much HSW :/

Who knows, you might still have got 140 UMS (which i was hoping for too until i saw question 9 )

Full UMS, which was very strange because i was getting max 52/60 in past papers, but I must have just had a good day or something

    What about you?

Haha, question nine was probably also my downfall!! I died a little inside when I saw it! I hope I do, but right now I'm just aiming for an A...I'll worry about the UMS later Gotta get through chem and physics now :O

How stupid :L glad I do AQA now, although they are ridiculous too I would've probably laughed out loud during the exam and been penalised haha.
I would have laughed if the paper wasn't so hard in previous pages! But at that point i was more like, can't give a damn about the song let's just do the bloody questions haha

I agree with everything you said! I'm glad that I'm not the only one in this! And YS you are right, it is how he conducted the whole thing without the colorimetr so I said he would see the differences in colours in timed intervals and would weigh the precipitates afterwards comparing the volume of the solution in the beginning! I went onto additional page so they will be having fun marking mine :L flexible enzymes was so weird but the whole paper in general was really weird! It was the craziest paper that I have done hands down. They will have lots of complaints about this...

Just to butt in, I only got 82 UMS in that one...very bad day, I'd got full UMS in my mock as well so I was gutted...a grand total of one mark into the A bracket

I just wrote about the hydrostatic pressure and the lymph vessels and something about osmosis. Max 2 marks out of 6.

I love those type of questions about the change in base sequence!
Some of the questions was meh, don't know the things I wrote will get me marks.

Really hoping I did well in this unit.
Kind of messed up unit 1...

Sure you'll be fine And yes, base sequence questions are awesome, as if they didn't come up!! I feel the same about some of them as well tbh, I just wrote something down for everything and sorta hoping I'll pick up some marks for it even if it's not full :/

^ and rightly so. I'm still in shock about the paper. So many people were saying its okay they'll just resit but you don't have much of a chance to resit if you want to apply to med... seriously if this ends up messing up my application...urgh I don't even want to think about it.

Hoping the grade boundaries will be low, but I doubt that
Really want an A or else no hope for medicine...
