Re: CURRENT YEAR 12s-Hopeful Medics (Mk. II)!We had one yesterday....what are the chances(Original post by DarkAndTwisty)
This. There was an Oxbridge meeting at our college and my friends were genuinely surprised when I didn't go. I don't really see what makes them any better than another medical school, tbh. In fact, the traditional style of teaching is a distinct disadvantage in my eyes, but obviously everyone learns in different ways
Turned up 15 mins late, asked if I went to the Bahamas on a gap year, whether they would take away an offer, and then left :P -
Re: CURRENT YEAR 12s-Hopeful Medics (Mk. II)!I agree(Original post by AspiringGenius)
It's not healthy to talk about oneself in third person.

Re: CURRENT YEAR 12s-Hopeful Medics (Mk. II)!Haha thank you(Original post by DarkAndTwisty)
Yeah. I don't see why you wanted more because your GCSEs are amazing. They're more than enough for all the medical schools, or so I think
- well not really for Birmingham :/
Haha!!(Original post by Aspire_to_Inspire)
I actually got confused as well to be honest...
How are you able to apply for sutton trust summer schools? I thought you went to a grammar school? Is that also allowed?
How much work experience do you have - I've seen so many people here refer to you when talking about work experience?
(sorry I've kind of asked too many questions
)
Yeah Grammar schools can apply because technically they're state schools
Haha yep that's because I was on a mission last term to get w/e.
I'll type it up later as the lunch bell has just gone :P

Re: CURRENT YEAR 12s-Hopeful Medics (Mk. II)!Something tells me PSQ isn't applying anywhere this year, seeing as he's not an applicant, he's a medical student(Original post by Varsh05)
Now I'm planning to apply to KCL,Manchester,Peninsula,Southam pton,Durham,Newcastle or St Georges'.
I'll just choose 5 from these!

Re: CURRENT YEAR 12s-Hopeful Medics (Mk. II)!
Is anyone here applying to both UNIQ at Oxford and Sutton Trust Cambridge? I'm almost certain I will be applying to Cambridge next year, but I've heard amazing things about UNIQ and it will allow me to learn even more about Medicine, but will also give me a chance to see if I really do prefer Cambridge to Oxford.
Plus, Sutton Trust say you can't apply to more than one Sutton Trust summer school, but as UNIQ is a separate programme then I'm pretty sure this is allowed. -

Re: CURRENT YEAR 12s-Hopeful Medics (Mk. II)!
Wrote my application for medview at Kings college london. Wrote really good answers to the set questions, incorporating all my experience. Then I forgot that I didnt download it from my email, and my saves werent actually saving my application form. Close Word to go onto my email, and then I lost my application form, along with all my answers.
Absolutely gutted, feel like crying.
