Soton is a proper university whereas Solent pretends to be a university. Let's face it most of the students at Solent are numb-skulls and losers with at most two Es at A-level. The average student at Soton has three As at least. I reckon a third class honours degree from Soton is far superior to a first class honours from Solent. Soton students are just more intelligent

You ask a question, yet you seem to already have made your mind up. Sure the average grades at A level for Southampton are higher and it is a better university academically generally. However your post seems like you just want an angry response from Solent students.

at least solent gives people a chance. not everyone has the best gcses or a-level results

i didnt get very good gcses but ive worked my butt of on my btec course and will be attending solent in september

Of course, in general Soton is better than Solent.

But Solent can compete at some courses (probably Film and Sports Science for example) so it cannot be discounted completely.

The University of Southampton may be better academicly than Solent however that doesn't necessarily make it better.

Solent provides vocational based degrees which can lead directly into a job. Degrees from UoS don't always link directly into a job.

i'm sorry whats your IQ as mine is 154 i am pretty sure i am in the top 5 smartest people on this website easily

i chose Solent as i preferred its course and didn't want to be surrounded by stuck up dickheads like yourself

Sure, Southampton is academically better but for heaven's sakes, Solent is still a university and has still produced some respectable alumni, a couple of fashion designers and the co-founder of B&Q to name but a few. Don't be so harsh.
