Hey, Anny- finally found you in the student rooms (sounds like i'm stalking you)

I... didn't convert any units, because I was too careless. And I also put £300 for the house lighting question because it seemed logical at the time. :/ aaaahhhhh I can sense a fail coming my way.
Yeah, we're basically, nearly enough the same. Haha.
I was careless. So careless I didnt bother to think twice.
There was that 3 marker question where you have to fill in the boxes with the correct wavelengths, frequencies or something. That was a total mess up.
I totally forgot how to calculate those.

In a way, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like they did badly- I literally felt like I was going to cry because I KNEW I made so many STUPID mistakes. Like in the biology paper and the chemistry... I lost at least 5 marks in each by either misreading the question or simply being a dimwit. I felt/feel so angry at myself- and I would punch myself but that would hurt.

Dreading the results... My parents are going to be so mad at me and my mum would probably cry or something. =.=

I think all the mess up was due to panic. And I totally forgot how to use a fricking calculator and how to rearrange equations. It was like... "hey, I dont see this equation. ok. let's guess the answer instead." Why didn't I REARRANGE IT?!!?!?! Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

Well... I bet we didn't do THAT badly! I hope! Best wishes for your results xD

This year, I had no feelings on my exams. Just numbness.
I was nervous for my Biology exam, so nervous I spelt osmosis wrong (I written osmotid, crossed it out )

After the exam on Physics I didnt feel anything. Its probably because I knew I messed up, theres nothing of that "maybe I got this wrong, hopefully I got that right" because I just felt like there was no point to hope that I got things right.

I already warned my parents that I will fail, especially on Physics. They dont seem happy, but theres nothing that can be done. At the end of the day its part of learning.
Remember we got that big exam, 33% worth. If we ace that exam, along with the coursework, we can probably drag it back up to an A.

could you resit this exam in your school?

Yeah, we can resit!! (Thankfully O_O) Can you?

Ooooh that big exam...... P7 and C7 and B7.. The joys to come of these future exams! Yeah- technically if we do great on the coursework and on the other exams our grades should be fine! *crosses fingers*

It's a good thing I didnt take physics for my A levels- although I did take bio and chem as two of my options- the others being psychology and maths.

And you must have been so nervous! Osmotid ftw!

    Hahaha
I cant believe I considered picking Physics as one of my options for A levels.
Im glad I picked Maths instead.
I think the C7 P7 and B7 would be okay for most of us, is we put work into it and focus on it throughout, unlike the modules where it was all over the show.

    fingers crossed though.

Our school is cheap. They cant afford resits. I guess I would have to pay myself for one.

    Fingers crossed indeed!

We have to pay ourselves if we want to do resits.
I'm not sure how much Science is, but History resits were around £7.50, although they're a difference exam board!

I hope everyone gets the grades they want- whether that's through us all doing well on the exam, or us all doing so badly, the grade boundaries are low so we get the grades

    £7 is not that bad!
I was expecting something like £30

By the way, its a good question to ask...

... The paper was out of 42 marks. In the worst case scenario, where we all do terrible, the grade boundaries will lower. This will mean that someone could get 15 marks only, and get an A, for example.
The person might get an A, but in reality he/she has scored very low on the paper.
When the course comes to an end (all coursework is submitted and marked, all exams are done) and they give us a final grade, would they consider those grade boundaries? Or will they add our scores together?
I could get A's on these modular exams, but score 13 out of 42 in reality, lets say. Would they add my score together, or will they consider the grade boundaries they set at the time, and average out the grades? If they didnt people could get A's on their modular exams (like P4 P5 P6) but get a C overall.

I'm presuming they'll take into account boundaries- they'd have to, otherwise it's pointless having them!!
Say you need 30 out of 50 in each exam for an A except this one, where you need... 20...
Overall, it'd be out of 200 marks, and for an A, I'd presume you'd need the minimum A from each exam, so 110... and then getting a 40 in one, and a 10 in the hard one would still give you your A overall...
I know those numbers don't add up to the same as Science, but do you see my point?

They'd have to take into account the grade boundaries, and in whatever fantastical complex maths they do to get the final grades, it means that a good mark in one can cancel out a bad mark in another...

I think.. I might be wrong. But that's what I'd guess!

They convert from raw marks( the ones you actually get, out of 42), to UMS,(out of 50) which take into account grade boundaries and foundation or higher. So if you do foundation even 42/42 is only 30/50 UMS. Then they add these up at the end to get your final grade.

I think a friend of mine did it. Is that the C1 C2 C3?
If so, he found it pretty hard, but that is primarily because he never bothered to revise for it, and he never learns in class.

Paper was actually OK (not that hard but not that east)

There were silly questions OCR Made.

    such as:
    Q. Compare the following: [on specific topic]
[Given table / image] related to the subject

    4 Marks

If you didnt understand (the above question) - iM TALKING ABOUT THE QUESTIONS LIKE COMPARE THE AMINO ACID AND SUGAR (4 MARKS)
Comparison Questions.... 4 MARKS!!!!! This is seriously starting to annoy me!

Wow that was really hard in my opinion.

What did everyone get for the last question?

    I run out of time!!!
I know! Compared to all the past papers, the questions on there were really hard. I forgot specifically what the last question was...

Ugh! Those quetions really bug me. If it was 2 marks, fair enough, 4 marks, its too much for such a question.
I was wondering how it was related to the syllabus.

For Physics, could someone please tell me how many marks it was worth, drawing the lines of reflection? I STUPIDLY missed the question out, but now have found out there was such question, and I am just praying it was a one or two marker...

I'm sorry my friend, but I remember it being worth 4 marks.
2 marks for correctly drawing and labelling the diagram, 2 marks for explaining.

I remember me being stuck because I couldnt figure out how to score 4 marks for such a question.

    Good luck anyway.

I explained it (It was filling in the gaps? right? But just didn't draw anything).
