You can put it that way but CIE also includes A level exams in other places like HK and Malaysia. The extent of difficulty and content of the exams differs between each country.

What subjects if you don't mind me asking? And you want to go to UBC over McGill?

I'm still not completely sure of the a-level requirements for Toronto Arts...think it's just A's and B's?

    Damn, nice subjects! haha!

I regret so badly not taking maths... even considering taking a gap year to do an A level in it or something similar.. I dont know..

And yeah been looking through canadian university forums and the applying process seems pretty complicated. Oh no, not my gcse's They were not the best.. Apprently Canadian Unis tend to like international students, primarily for $$$. So perhaps shouldent be too hard to get accepted?
Couldn't agree with this more...I've just finished my first year at UBC and the lack of maths is actually crippling (I'm studying Kinesiology). Currently looking in to taking next semester off & trying to fast-track a level maths in 6 months distance learning. UBC do offer two courses which, when combined, are the equivalent of "grade 12" maths (as level). Maths 001 & Maths 002. But they are ZERO credit courses & it would take me a whole year. Such a pain in the ass. My general advice is to SERIOUSLY check out your prerequisites....its confusing as hell but well worth getting your head around what subjects you need so you don't end up in my kind of situation!

I would imagine though that your course needs only specific parts of AL math? Surely this would take only about 1 month of learning by yourself? I mean you wouldn't have to learn all the useless stuff like trig or complex numbers etc.
