Does anyone know how to set out a question about day care that is 8-10 marks? I know that you can use a study for A01 (e.g Campbell et al.) but which study is the best to use? and for A02 what studies can I use to critisise the study in A01? help!!
Erm what ive been doing is outline about 4 studies in ao1 as I don't feel like are bulky enough to just use 1. The majority of mine are just findings of studies as textbooks don't tend to outline their procedure.

For ao2 you could evaluate the methodogy. Eg Sheas experiment was an observation and therefore there are ethical issues etc. for ao2 you could also include possible implications in which daycare research has result in.

If you get a 12 marker on day care, two/three studies should be fine. Do not just LIST them, you need to remember to say what they show about the effect of day care on aggression and social development. I'm only saying this because it's so easy to forget that in the exam, when you panic it's so easy to just 'list'.

Regarding evaluation points, you need to explain that studies into day care have shown inconsistency in findings, therefore it's difficult to generalise the effects of day care completely.

Most studies into day care also lack temporal/historical validity. The quality of day care has improved since the 50's-70's and the effects it has now may be different to what it used to.

There are also many intervening factors, such as individual differences in the child and the sensitivity of care they are given from their primary caregiver.

The only other 12 marker I can think of that may be likely to come up is Cultural Variations.

Hoping this exam will be alright!

Let's just hope it is on memory. However, my psychology teacher said it is likely to be on attachment but still who knows. Either way I suck at attachment but am a memory god, js. I would actually do anything for a question on the MSM Or WMM though...

Omg I'm totally dreading the memory side of it! Everything about memory just kills me fml :|
I prefer developmental, so much easier in comparison!
No way is developmental easier, I think it is the hardest module out of all 6 :/

Memory is a piece of cake!

Anyone using this book to study for the PSYA1 exam this Wednesday?

If so; can you list all the relevant studies that need to be known for attachment.

    Thanks!

Would you just do Van IJzendoorn and Kroonenberg for cultural variations?

Eeeeek feeling very happy because I did my first mock past paper today and got 80ums. I'm aiming for at least 90 but it'll do for now!

Hope everyone else is doing okay!
Did you mark it by yourself or did your teacher do it? I'm just wondering whether i'll get away with doing it by myself....

I'm self teaching so myself although I got a friend to mark it as well and checked we agreed. I'm sure you'd be fine to do it yourself just make sure that you mark yourself as harshly as possible to be on the safe side.

revise this for sure-I almost ignored it when I did this paper and a 6 marker on it came up.
I had only just learnt it the day before as well so luckily was fresh enough.
