and that's why i really want it to come up, or at least as a 8/10 marker !!
    Agreed!

How would people tackle Life Changes / Daily Hassles as an 8 or 10 marker? Also, will it be one or the other or both?

    That just wouldn't happen.

I don't really think daily hassles will come up any higher than a 4 marker, because there isn't much to Delongis' research. Life changes would be very nice!

there's so much to write for it, so i think it can only come as a 12 marker and they sometimes can ask for both or one of them

I've received a letter from my teacher explaining that this exam may include a "Stress Inoculation Therapy"... Can anybody please enlighten me as to what this is?

we can get a 12 marker or 8/10 marker on ethical issues in social psychology studies but I doubt AQA is going to do that before doing all the easier 12 markers first.

    Do we need to know the Erik Erikson stages of psychosocial development, does anyone know, or just Freud's standard psychosexual stages for psychodynamic model? :}

Going to have a shower and go into hardcore revision mode, I cant walk into an exam knowing I haven't worked as hard as I could have.

Going to revise Cognitive/Behavioural Approaches to abnormality seems as they haven't come up before.
I am with you on that one. I need to revise of those two approaches, i have a really strong feeling that they will be asked. Right now Im going hardcore too! Keep going and takes breaks too

I have a question, when we have a 12 mark question asking us to outline & evaluate an approach to abnormality, do we go deeper into methods of treating those disorders or simply outline the main assumptions and then evaluate criticisms/supports?

    Thanks.

Well you get 6 A01 points and 6 A02 points...so state 3 knowledge points about an approach and the therapies involved and explain them and then state 3 evaluation points eg strengths/weaknesses..that's what I do anyway

that's SIT - same as CBT for treating stress

    - Meinchenbaum's 1985 = cognitive therapy aims to prepare (inoculate) an individual against stress

    1) CONSEPTUALISATION PHASE =
    - stress is a problem-to-be-solved
    - break global stressors into specific components

    2) SKILLS AQUISITION PHASE (AND REHAEARSAL):
    - CLIENTS TAUGHT SKILLS, E.G. positive thinking, relaxation, time management and using social support systems

    3) APPLICATION PHASE (AND FOLLOW THROUGH):
    - apply new coping skils in different situations using imagination, modelling, role play, training others

    - helps by teaching them to deal with stressors and acts as a long-lasting treatment
    - doesn't result in any side effects unlike drug therapy

    - doesn't always work for all patients
    - can take long time to take effect, requires commitment & cost a lot
    - doesn't offer an immediate result unlike drug therapy

    RESEARCH EVIDENCE:
    - MEICHENBAUM - 1977:
SIT helped clients deal with target fear and a second, non-treated phobia more than systemantic desensitisation did

    - FONTANA ET ALL - 1999:
students had lower heart rate and anxiety levels than controls after 6 week stress inoculation programme

    - we might get a 12 marker on this!!!!
