Hey! Is it possible for you to send me a copy of those? As much as I'm trying, I know I won't be able to type up AND learn all of those essays as well as revise for my other 6 exams in 7 days. Please??? You'd be saving a life here...

Re: Psychology AQA A PSYA3 11th June 2012!Why d'you disagree? We know the kind of questions that would come up... Isn't it just easier?(Original post by swiftylol)
How are you guys revising? (besides memorising essays, which i completely disagree with)
If you understood the topic then it makes the memorising essays a lot easier

Re: Psychology AQA A PSYA3 11th June 2012!I'm compiling notes using handouts from teachers and using the textbook/internet for the parts that are looking a bit sparse. I suppose I'm making essay plans, really. I highlight handouts, copy out the most important bits, then underline key points on my revision notes with different colours, and just read through them, sometimes getting people to test me. I want to get a couple of practice essays in but not sure if I'll have time. How about you?(Original post by swiftylol)

Also I like productive procrastinating so I can pretend to myself I'm revising - copying out past questions, making predictions, copying out the spec, writing down past grade boundaries and working out percentages and stuff. I don't recommend it lmao, it's bloody useless :P Better than spending hours on Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr though I suppose.Last edited by annagoesbroom; 31-05-2012 at 22:26. -
Re: Psychology AQA A PSYA3 11th June 2012!Meh, never really tried it so I probably wrong but, just thought it dumbs down the subject and limits what you can write about. Might give it a go and see how i find it, now that i think about it.(Original post by CollateralElement)

I hate Psych.

Re: Psychology AQA A PSYA3 11th June 2012!THAT'S the point. We WANT to dumb the subject down because it's just a week before the exam! We know that there's a particular lot of questions coming, so we'll revise those ones instead of all the eye cortex non-important things.(Original post by swiftylol)

Saying that, I don't like dumbing down the subject either. I like psych when I'm learning it. I just don't like the format of the exam. I turned the knuckles of my right hand blue and purple during essay-style exams last year and the year behind because I wanted to cram so much information in for seemingly vague questions.
It worked but it hurt.
This way I can practise writing out essays within the time limit, knowing exactly what to say, still get the marks and save my arm from certain amputation or whatever the word is for "unexpectedly falling out of its socket".
You get, bro?

Re: Psychology AQA A PSYA3 11th June 2012!Yes, definitely. The stages of sleep and their respective wavelengths is the best example of an Ultradian rhythm.(Original post by hhh123)
If we get a question such as "Outline ultradian rhythms" or something similar for 5 marks, would it be necessary to write about the stages of sleep? EG explaining each stage..?
You could also talk about the BRAC if the number of marks demands it.

So basically what i'd do is outline the basics of an ultradian rhythm. Then I could say how the sleep wake cycle is a prime example and then outline the different stages which act as ultradian rhythms..?
And if the question is more marks I could outline and evaluate Dements research on REM/NREM sleep..? -

Start with what an Ultradian rhythm is (less than a day). Give the example of the Sleep stages, say how they're measured (using an EEG machine). Go into detail on the 5 stages with their wavelengths. Yes you could finish with the Dement and Kleitman study as it provides proof for some of the stages.
That would suffice for 5 marks.
