Because thongs fit a lot tighter to the body, and (at the risk of sounding crude) fit into narrower gaps, bacteria can grow a lot more quickly, as well as there being more of it, so the chances of getting a yeast infection or a UTI are higher.

Thongs are not slutty, people wear them for a number of reasons. Some people find them comfier, others do it when wearing tight fitting skirts/trousers/leggings so the outline of your underwear doesn't show, some people do it because they make them feel good.

Just because thongs cover a little less than normal underwear, that doesn't make people who wear them slutty.

If you're clean in both areas down there and change your thongs daily it's not gonna make a blind bit of difference. If you don't wipe properly then of course a thong which gives you a wedgie is much more likely to spread something than standard knickers which go around your cheeks rather than between. Don't let everything you read with the tiniest bit of science scare you.

Thats not why I don't wear them, I just find it uncomfortable.

Actually heard about it in one of my lectures, with reference to common examples of how women get infections.. I said wearing thongs increases the risk of infection, as it increases the area that bacteria can spread to, not that you will always get them. They're bad for you in terms of being worse than say, briefs.

Quite often wear a thong when I go out, partly because I find the designs on them prettier even though a thong itself isn't tht pretty.
Main reason though is that you avoid VPL

I dont know how anyone can wear any knickers other than thongs. Ive been wearing thongs since i was 14, after a week or two of wearing them i pretty much stopped feeling the back part between my bum cheeks. The only time i wear normal knickers is when im on my period omfg i hate wearing those!

But what i like most is the compliments i get from potential boyfriends who notice my thong when wearing bodycon skirts/dresses, apparantly i have a nice looking bum, lol
