Current Year 11 Thread Mark II
Discussion for GCSE students, including those studying for IGCSEs and O Levels.

Re: Current Year 11 Thread Mark IIIt happens to me a lot with songs at parties, but I'm usually too drunk to remember the lyrics. The last one was a drum and bass (not typically my preferred genre to be honest), but was catchy, but the only word I can remember is something along the lines of 'polly'. :/(Original post by Pandora.)
That's happened so many times to me, but I love the feeling when I eventually find what I'm looking for.
Oh dear, I'm really behind on these things. Could you define e-sports for me?
EDIT: Oh my!
And e-sports is gaming viewed in a similar format to that of sporting events (live viewers). Typically tournaments and such.

I've never drank alcohol in my life... -
Re: Current Year 11 Thread Mark III don't get plastered if that's what you're trying to imply, all just matter of knowing your limits, and I'm not out every weekend(Original post by multiplexing-gamer)
You really like drinking don't you? Lol
I've never drank alcohol in my life...
Everything in moderation. -
Re: Current Year 11 Thread Mark IIProbably not but maybe Polly by Nirvana?(Original post by c3ntury)

Re: Current Year 11 Thread Mark III'm getting a moped next year! A lot cheaper than driving a car, won't get people trying to cadge a lift off me haha and insurance and stuff is cheaper depending on engine size. My dad used to have a moped. However my nana will want me to be careful as her brother died on a motorbike so she hates any type of bike with an engine.(Original post by multiplexing-gamer)
I just read in the Independent about teens riding mopeds. Did you now it only costs about £100-£150 for a used moped? You only need one days worth of driving lessons also. Thats cheaper than buying the bike I want!
However, my mum would never let me get one

Re: Current Year 11 Thread Mark IISomething Mathematically or Physics related. The idea of completing a PhD in Mathematics and becoming a Researcher in an area of Pure Mathematics seems very appealing at the moment. But, as everything does, it has it's pros and cons..(Original post by usycool1)
So what profession does everyone want to go into? I would quite like to get into medicine
I also like the look of what they do at CERN in Geneva, and would like to go over there in the summer to attend a summer school as an undergraduate. This could highly influence the career path that I would like to take. -
Re: Current Year 11 Thread Mark III understand where you are coming from. I don't drink much at parties, as I like to be level headed at all times, and I don't like doing things that I wouldn't normally do. I usually drink with my dad at the pub though. But like you said, in moderation.(Original post by c3ntury)

My school are currently working with CERN actually to launch a satellite into space. And I'm allowed to join that project next year, so it should be interesting

Re: Current Year 11 Thread Mark IIYeah, basically. Only this night in question (where I couldn't remember the song lyrics) I ended up playing drafts with shots with friends beforehand... and lost. Never again.(Original post by CharlieBoardman)

But I've seen too many people make a fool out of themselves, and do something they regret the morning after from drinking too much, but I know that I wouldn't ever want to wish that state upon my self.
Nah, it was nothing like that, although, good song.(Original post by Cubic)
Probably not but maybe Polly by Nirvana?
Nirvana's Unplugged in New York is a fantastic live album.Last edited by c3ntury; 22-04-2012 at 09:38. -
Re: Current Year 11 Thread Mark IIsitting at my kitchen table trying to psyche myself into some revision after being away for a week, thus doing pretty much zero revision(Original post by GreenLantern1)
Where is everybody today then.....?
doesn't help that I have a cousin in private school who's going into school early to do revision (!!!) thus, the comparisons are drawn
WAAAH

Re: Current Year 11 Thread Mark II(Original post by CharlieBoardman)
Just wait for college
Too right. Revising badly could lead to bad habits. And also you don't take half the information in when you just skim read things! I much prefer to concentrate 100% whilst revising, just so I make the most of it and make it worth while. I don't go on my computer or phone whilst I'm revising, I turn them both off! And I try to sit somewhere quiet too, although that is quite difficult in my house :P

Re: Current Year 11 Thread Mark III'm in London, have been here cheering my big brother on, as he ran the London Marathon today.(Original post by GreenLantern1)
Where is everybody today then.....?
He finished a short while ago.
I'm now sitting outside a pub with my parents, waiting for my brother, so we can take him home. He's got his own flat in London, but he's coming back home for a few days, so my mum can look after him. Big baby!

so lucky
