Dropping Biology before I've finished the as?

Wanted to ask for some advice... I take Law, English Literature, Politics and Biology. I get all a's in Law, English & Politics, but Biology... U. No matter how hard I try, U. Once an E, but still, I have a feeling the 'U' trend continued to the January module.

I really want to drop it, and I can. In my a2 year I'd take another as level, probably History. But would this look really bad (dropping an as level in your first year and taking one in your second year instead)? Or would coming out with a very low grade look worse?

I want to try for a Politics & Sociology degree in somewhere like Newcastle or Sheffield btw.

Thanks.

I don't *think* people can tell- I dropped Music AS in March, so before I'd completed the year. Hasn't affected me, didn't mention it on UCAS and I don't see why they need to know (or would find out).
