    Can someone help me with this question please:

    Dodecane, C12H26, can be cracked into ethene and a straight chain alkane such that the molar ratio ethene: straight chane alkane is 2 : 1.

    i) Write a balanced equation for this reaction?

    C12H26 ------> C2H4 + ?

    ii) Name the straight chain alkane formed?

    iii) Write a balanced equation to show the reforming of heptane into methylcyclohexane?

    Well, for every mole of C12H26 cracked, you have 2 moles of C2H4 and 1 mole of an alkane cracked.

    Write out the balanced equation, then fill in the blank (so to speak):

    C12H26 --> 2 C2H4 + X
