Lantana's IF blog
This is not the place to berate me/argue about the merits or disadvantages of IF (Intermittent Fasting), but for me to post how I'm doing on it. If you're wanting to discuss it further you can PM me.
So I'm going to be doing 3 fasts (breakfast to breakfast) every 2 weeks because that fits with my schedule best. I usually drink only squash but sometimes will have diet cream soda. I will otherwise be eating as usual during the rest of the week:- Breakfast-2 pieces of toast with fruit juice
- Lunch- graze box, sunbites crisps, piece of fruit and cereal bar.
- Dinner-something like pasta and vegetables and yoghurt for dessert
2 weeks ago: 69ish kg
1 week ago: 68.2 kg
Today: 67 kg.
So, slowly coming off which is great; I'm not too fussed about the speed as this is a much more sustainable way of weight loss for me! Target weight is about 60kg.
Thigh:60cm
Bottom:102cm
Stomach:92cm
Waist:80cm
Chest:94cmLast edited by Lantana; 04-07-2012 at 00:14. Reason: Changing grammar -
Re: Lantana's IF blogMy usual of jiu jitsu x2 weekly. I think that counts as both, lol! I've not really got time here to do anymore as commuting eats into my time :'( I do miss my body pump class though.(Original post by MHorman)
Hi. In to watch.
You going to be doing much cardio or lifting in addition to the healthy eating plan? -
Re: Lantana's IF blogI don't. But my fasting day sometimes changes.(Original post by TZ421)
You shouldn't weigh yourself more than once a week, results can be skewed and inaccurate this way. -
Re: Lantana's IF blogGood progress. Nice to see something a little different in terms of diet approach on here.(Original post by Lantana)

Re: Lantana's IF blog

"The diet" or the crossfit?
So easy, I'm either eating or I'm not. I find it worse if I've a restricted diet all the time. I've done it before and lost weight - but it meant so much measuring and obsessing, having to buy specific stuff which was expensive and I was perpetually on the edge of hunger. But bizarrely I feel fine if I'm totally not eating.
And it fits so much better with my life - I can go out with friends and eat whatever, I just switch my days around. It'll be easier to maintain this at home as well as conventional dieting would not work due to having to have such tight control over the environment. I tend to start the fasts after I've done a period of exercise as before is not a good thing for me (oh, hello floor!) but results may vary. I guess it helps that I eat pretty healthy anyhow and I don't overcompensate on the days afterwards too badly (I may or may not eat another 300ish calories than 'normal' but I still have a deficit of 1000+ calories from before). I don't have any side effects apart from my stomach rumbling away -but it's not painful, just noisy- as long as I stop before ~48 hours but then my fasts are normally much shorter than that. Should probably drink more though.
Crossfit is evil and makes me ache. It shall make me fitter though and is much more interesting than going to the gym. I also apparently have really tight hamstrings so squating is interesting. But I get to lift again
Ta, I always have been different(Original post by Old School)
Good progress. Nice to see something a little different in terms of diet approach on here.

You sound pretty sensible too so I'm sure you'll have much success! What's your plan for now on then? You've made good progress, what comes next?
I get what you mean about struggling more with restrictions. I recently used the Dukan method to lose weight so it was more about you can either eat it or not, than how much and what proportions. Worked for me because I was sedentary and didn't need the carbs! -
Re: Lantana's IF blogI'm not sure, I'm in a period of transition. Although I've dropped a dress size(Original post by shorty.loves.angels)
Glad it's working for you

I still have some flab left that I want rid of. I'm glad I've lost some weight but I'm quite happy being in a normal BMI. I'm going to see how effective the crossfit is in controlling my weight (I know that muscle weighs more than fat but I don't want to go all the way up to 70kg again) and body recomponsition. So we'll see if I need to maintain, ease off or be able to stop my fasts from that.
I love carbs. I live on them. Probably because I'm veggie. I've heard the Dukan diet is good though, but so would not work for me. I think it's all about choosing the various options that work for your situation and then it's so much easier to do.
. However, I think I have made a horrific mistake and joined crossfit. My legs are not happy with me....
