    Crossfit! Ring Muscle-ups ftw

How long are you fasting for before eating? I realised I am close to eating all of my food within 8 hours anyway, so maybe I'm already doing it?

Another crossfitter? I'm not quite at that stage yet! I just want to be able to do a normal pull up without help!

I follow the Eat Stop Eat protocol so 24-36 hours depending when I eat dinner and breakfast rather than the leangains of 16/8. So I'm not trying to condense my eating into one period but having a period of fasting and then just continue eating like normal when I'm not fasting.
Read this for more information on the various methods.

Thanks a lot, I'll check it out. I really want to try some variation of fasting, just for the sake of it.

Haha I've never done crossfit before but I have used rings. I do a lot of bodyweight stuff though (like muscle ups on pull up bars) etc!

I'm sure you'll be doing pull ups soon. Your sessions look tiring! Have you tried the crossfit butterfly (kipping) pull ups lol? A lot of people hate on them I'd imagine you can do them with technique practise.

    Re: Lantana's IF blog
Found a crossfit at home so tried it out today. Was expensive though as not a member but I'm not around for long enough.

    Warmup
Well they looked like they were doing junkyard dog but I arrived a bit late and was changing

Then there was something with a PVC bar that I joined in with.

    Strength

Back Squat 5x5@82% which would be 41kg, but we did it at 40kg

    Skill

10 Mins HSPU practice - Is it sad I got excited at this as it's something I want to be able to do at least one of? I may also have got stuck at one point upside down unable to get down and the instructor had to rescue me  We started off with just doing a handstand -> removing one hand at a time-> starting further back and walking forward

    Workout
    Time = something <19 minutes, I can't remember exactly
    21-15-9
Thrusters w/ 20kg bar - how I love you, not
    Burpees

    Followed By:
    30 x Power Clean @ 80/50 -haha, no. 30kg was bad enough.

    Warmdown
Some tangling of legs followed by a different contortion followed by another stretch. If I knew what they were called I'd put photos up. - I think I should nick this idea of doing some mobility work after a workout though.

Subbing. Just noticed this blog. I am also doing a form of IF and find it great.

The interesting thing for me is that I was kind of doing it all along anyway, even when I was fat. I would often go 20 hours without food, then scoff some Greggs or crisps, drink 10 pints and have a kebab and chips. Then when I decided to lose weight and get healthy, I assumed part of that meant that I should be eating three meals a day including a good breakfast. Got really sick of trying to eat in the morning since I never did it before, never had an appetite for it and just couldn't be arsed. Saw a documentary about fasting, read a lot of stuff and decided that eating all my food in short bursts and then fasting probably wasn't going to be detrimental so I went back to eating that way, albeit eating better foods.

Are you still fasting? How are you going with it?

    What version?

Yes, especially as my exercise regime has been rather sporadic as of late and I went up to 2 fasts a week. Keeps my weight in check though 60kg seems to be the magic number for me. Now that I'm back into my routine, I'll see how it pans out and hopefully reduce it down but I suspect I'll retain it as a useful tool in my arsenal.

I basically fast for 18-22 hours every day and eat for 2-6 hours.

I don't even think I will be just using this as a weight loss tool; it just suits me perfectly. I guess I will have to see how I manage when I up my calories again but I guess I could just extend the eating period slightly.

    Warmup
    15-10-5
SDHP which I always get confused with HSPU for some inane reason.
    Lunges

    Workout

    In 12 min:
    3 Deadlifts 140/100kg  I can lift just about 60kg - kinda
10 Burpee pull ups - or in my case, do a burpee and then sort of jump on the bar and try to move upward
19 Box jumps - one day I'll jump it properly instead of a random hop thing
160m Farmers carry 24kg - which means 48kg in total. Had to stop 3 times despite chalking my hands

    2 rounds +3DL
