Thanks so much for posting; I love viewing other people's portfolios but no one is ever willing to share them.

Don't take the comments about pretentiousness to heart too much - true, it is. And to a certain degree which varies from viewer to viewer, all art is. I think titling is important, although I agree that perhaps you should better link the title to the subject, especially in the paintings.

And actually, I like your "Metaphorical Love" piece the most.
Good luck with Oxford! I have two fine art friends who are also going to Ruskin next year. I applied but nada for even interview, idk. :P http://princeling.tumblr.com - only fair to share mine in return.

Haha, thanks, that's the piece my tutor seems to dislike.
And yeah, good stuff! I'll mention it to them; they'll be sure to be interested. x

Ok, so I remember when I was still in the application process how desperate I was to find an example of a successful portfolio, so here's mine:

Hi I'm a prospective Ruskin student and was wondering, did you only send the link to the flickr page or did you send any additional writing or websites too? Also is all of the work on your flickr extracurricular or was any of it taken from your AS course?

Thanks

Nice!

That's a great way to showcase your work. What was your feedback like? (aside from being successful!)

Her post is three years old meaning she just graduated from her course! You can actually see her work on the Ruskin degree show site which you may find interesting. I know that she was an international student and didn't complete AS/A2 qualifications due to that reason.

Thank you SO much!!!! Have been unable to find what I was looking for until now! Well done!!!
Thank you for posting this, 5 years down the line and this is still helpful to the students preparing their university portfolios. This has really helped me a lot to understand exactly what is needed and wanted for my uni portfolio.

Do you also still have your personal statement? Applying this year and some guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks for the portfolio link, very helpful.
Hi, so where did you end up studying? I really love this portfolio btw!
