How about porridge? A lot of people don't like it but its really about making it how you like it. Its really really good made with half water half soya milk, cinnamon and either fruit jam or frozen fruit mixed in
Thanks, I know I should eat things like porridge, but to be honest I can't be bothered making it when I get up! I know that's lazy.. I'm going to start having a spoon or two of oats/nuts with my rice crispies, but things ARE gradually getting better. As I said, one step at a time .

Hi all, apologies I've been missing in action for a few weeks! I moved house and didn't have internet for a while but I'm firmly back online now!

Hope you're all getting even closer to your targets. I've now lost 19lbs which is halfway to my pre-holiday target so I'm chuffed! Although only 11 and a half weeks to go which is SCARY.

I've started swimming and even doing a little bit of jogging on top of the walking I normally do. Had the occasional treat (went mental this weekend just gone) but on the whole being 90 per cent better than I used to be!

This sounds silly but I'm hungry and want to do 30DS - do I eat my tea (pie, mash and veg) before exercising or afterwards? I've got the slice of cake for afterwards as well.

I definitely think theyre worth it as long as there is a good chemistry - no not like that - but you see eye to eye on things. A friend at work is basically my personal trainer/my conscience and I couldnt have gotten into it as I have without him. Like our OP, I need to stay away from treats and the people at work are at least offering me things twice a day so knowing that weve already worked really hard keeps me from making my old mistakes. Then I can sensibly make choices to indulge a few times a week.
I totally agree me and my personal trainer work really well together he's willing to compromise on things such as the fact I really hate rowing so instead of doing 10 minutes rowing as part of my exercise plan he said I could do 5 minutes on the summit trainer and only 5 minutes rowing. I know what you mean I think once you get into being food conscious and exercising and the weight starts coming off it's easier to stick to and you won't just cave in at the sight of your friend eating a chocolate bar.

Have you thought about magic porridge, place oats in a yoghurt leave overnight and eat in the morning ?

A couple of hand weights and you don't need much space at all. I would recommend it - you can try the whole of level one (and maybe the others?) here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Pc-N...6&feature=plcp

In fact guys if you don't know about this youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/BeFit?feature=watch it's cool, loads of free full length workouts. Don't know how they're allowed to post them all, but hey, they do

I came here because I was wondering if anyone wanted to be MFP friends?

Oats so simple sachets? Dump oats in bowl, measure out liquid using sachet, place in microwave for 2 mins. Or are you really that lazy in the morning? :P

Yeah I've been on the site a few times, and various other paleo sites like the whole 30 and robb wolf's site I've been on a pretty low carb but low fat diet, so I'm kind of used to eating lots of bread etc but I think cutting out the processed foods and eating more fat will do me good. Think I'll have to update here more often to keep me on track though! Do you follow a paleo diet then? How long have you been doing it for?
I've been doing it for about 2-3 weeks but i've been low carb for quite a while as I was on a specific diet to rid myself of candida so the transition wasn't hard, in fact this diet is much more enjoyable. I don't like calling it a diet as this is a lifestyle change, after seeing the results, I'll never go back to eating grains again, we just don't need them and they make us feel crap and put on weight.

You don't need to spend that extra money on sachets and Ready Brek at all tbh. You can get 1.5kg of porridge oats for £1.50.

Put 30-50g in a bowl, add milk, microwave for 2-3 mins, done.
Plus it doesn't have all that added sugar and preservatives.

ASDA do a huge bag of smartprice porridge oats for a ridiculously cheap price. They've lasted me since November!

Try it with a teaspoon of golden syrup and a chopped up banana... mmmmmmm.

Oats + juice + a handful of dried fruit + left in the fridge overnight = very tasty, and great for when it's too hot for porridge.

I cannot stand oats!! I bought them once so that I could ditch the 2 slice of toast I have in the morning.. made it, put boiling milk in and some honey to make it taste nicer.. I very nearly threw up!

So yeah... I think I'll stick to my 2 slices of toast in the morning

I used to quite chubby last year and I wanted to get rid of my fat and spots.

Here is how I changed, into a spotless and normal male

    1) Yoga exercise - breathing to remove gas from stomach

    2) Amla churna with water - herbal medicine to help remove spots

I didn't go running or do all these exercises that you all are doing.

This is because I stopped eating all junk food and only have milk in my breakfast...not at any other time.

Currently I am aiming to tone up my muscles as I have lost the fat....I am using 2 very light dumbells and my arms are starting to become massive.

    - It's about quantity not just weight....some disagree, I just find this works best for me and doesn't restrict my future height growth.

And that's it. In one year I transformed and now am just toning muscles

    Quote me.
Quote me explain why I am wrong/ right? Why neg if you can't back up what you say.

I hate porridge with milk, blergh. I have it with water, a handful of sultanas and a teaspoon (well...a very heaped teaspoon haha) of Nutella in the middle. It melts into a delicious Nutella pool to dip your spoon into. Mmm. Okay, so not very healthy, but still. Amazing. I try to alternate my breakfasts between porridge and eggs (usually with some lean bacon, preferably turkey bacon), I get bored if I have the same thing too much.

I too hate porridge. Tried it once, a sweet supposedly great kind and yuck. I like fruit, yoghurt - and if i can get some - low GI treacle flavoured granola (lizi's) which tastes like dry flapjack but is actually good for you mmmmm.
