Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2
Hey alll!!! So, i am here to join the bandwagon. Broke up with the first boyfriend a few days ago, and instead of sitting around moping, i am going to get active!
I dont think i am fat, but i am terribly unfit, and after spending a year at uni away from home, my eating habits have become HORRENDOUS! So i want to exercise more and eat a bit better - hopefully toning up the old legs and bum along the way if i can!
Any advice to get started would be MAGICAL

Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2What kinds of things do you eat for your 1200 calories? It seems so low, like do you literally weigh everything out (like fruit veg etc) to make sure youre at your target?(Original post by xoxAngel_Kxox)
Woken up late this morning, which isn't great when you work from home freelance as it means you have to work later into the evening :-(. It's because my brother is on "study leave" now, and I didn't realise how much I relied on him being noisy at 7am to wake me up! So it was 9.45 when I woke up, so will have to set an alarm now he doesn't wake me up!
It's almost half 10 and he's still fast asleep lol, so much for study leave.
Anyway, today I am eating NO junk, and doing LOTS of exercise.. because this weight has to go :-). -
Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2My shoulders are burned from walking home from the gym yesterday.(Original post by The_Goose)
I went for a walk around this time yesterday and sunburnt my entire shoulder, neck/chest area =(
Please nobody shoot me, but I kinda hope it cools down a bit soon!

Hi, welcome! Sorry to hear about your breakup but sounds like you are determined to get healthy and active!
First of all, I recommend myfitnesspal.com to help you track what you eat and the nutritional content of what you eat. You can set your own goals on there, whether you want to lose, gain or maintain your weight.
Exercise-wise, you can start off by walking long distances (~2miles) in order to build your fitness levels up.
Or, you can download the Couch to 5K running plan which gets you running 5 kilometres. It's over the course of 9 weeks but you can repeat weeks as many times as you like.
Hope this helps. Everyone here is really friendly and helpful and knowledgeable and I'm sure they'll be along to give you more advice soon

Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2It's not actually all that bad if you have lots of veg because there's hardly any cals in that. I don't use any of my cals for drinks as I only drink water so the 1,200 is purely food.(Original post by infairverona)

I just eat whatever everyone else is having at dinner.. could be grilled chicken, pasta, a rice dish.. but whereas they have things like potatoes and bread, I'll bulk it up with veg.
I'm only doing it to try and kick start my weight loss again as I've been far too naughty this past couple of weeks, I will most likely go back up to 1,400 once I've lost a few more pounds.

..Done another 30 mins on the bike and some more step ups since I last posted. Oh and 3 x 8 lifts as well, no idea what they're called, but the ones where you lie on your back :P. -
Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2Bench/chest press? How much are you actually lifting, out of interest?(Original post by xoxAngel_Kxox)

I was eating with a 2hr gym session in mind for tonight, and now it's being scrapped in favour of drinks cos a friend got dumped. Might be a liquid dinner

Ice water

A lifesaver in this weather. Although does mean I'm constantly peeing - I'm getting through about 3-4 litres of water a day, minimum [/TMI]
Being lazy and having a ready meal for dinner tonight, although it's a healthy one from Tesco (peri peri chicken with spicy rice and rocket). Going to see if the corner shop has frozen peas - I want something to bump up my fruit and veg count (which has been atrocious for the last few days), but it's far too hot to walk to town and back.
Meeting a friend at the college bar tonight, but will be sticking with diet coke - she son't be drinking cause she hasn't finished exams yet, so I'll keep her company. Just got avoid the shop and its brownies/ice cream/crisps... -
Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2Yep that's the one!(Original post by Becca-Sarah)

I'm embarrassed to even admit it lol I have no strength in my arms.. but 12.5kg at the moment. Just increased it from 10kg and it's a struggle but not impossible. -

Another before an during for you all. The last time i posted one was after a 21lb loss, now I've lost 33lb so I'm slowly getting there! Don't think there's much of an obvious difference in this one because the different angles and i'm closer to the camera in the second pic, but I liked my outfit today so hey ho!

Hope you're all enjoying the sun! -
Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2Sssh! Don't say that!(Original post by amizzle91)

...apparently (in Scotland anyway
) it's going to cool down by Friday. And I agree with you really because I work in a bakery with ovens behind me and when it's 29C outside and your work has no air conditioning...that's not fun!

Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2
"if everyday were like today you would weigh 146.6lbs in 5 weeks." I only want to get down to 150lbs, and I have 7 weeks, so hopefully this will work!
Alhough I've just remembered that I didn't log a slice a bread I had for dinner, or the cheese, grr. This is why I've been slipping up the past few weeks! -
Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2You can still log them and then just hit complete again =)(Original post by xoxAngel_Kxox)

Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2
Decided that in October, when I start a Leicester, I'm going to take up ballet/modern dance again.
I danced from when I was 3 til when I was 17, but quit when school stuff got too much. I've been thinking about going back to it for ages, but haven't been able to here because classes are at weekends (I see my boyfriend every other weekend). But the classes at Leicester are on a Tuesday night, so it would be perfect. Plus, I can carry on with pole there too, on a Thursday

Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2The difference is very obvious and you can tell that you have lost weight. You look great and you should be proud(Original post by Sarang_assa)

Wow you look like you have lost lots of weight. How much have you lost so far if you don't mind me asking(Original post by amizzle91)
Found some old (read: obese) photos of me, so I thought I'd do a couple more comparisons

Re: Healthy New You: Your Change For Life #2
I'm really struggling with food lately
I just logged my food on MFP for the first time in ages today and it comes to just over 750 calories, but I feel stuffed and I still feel flabby and horrible. Why is it so difficult for me to eat like a normal person
