Hello Everyone!

Please do not enter into any arguments on the thread, or provoke "rep wars" or the like. This thread is supposed to be happy and healthy for all.]]

First of all, welcome to the thread. This is for anyone who would like to make positive and healthy steps towards changing their life. This could be losing weight, gaining weight, gaining muscle, improving your stamina- whatever you like.

Please remember that it is normal to experience weight changes during your teenage years. Don't mistake these weight changes for changes that will remain with you for your entire life. If you feel as though this is you, then simply ensure that you're eating healthily and doing a good amount of exercise (3 x 30 mins per week). If you are are school, then you should find that you get enough exercise during your PE lessons. We don't know how old you are when you join this thread, so we will just answer your questions as needed, however be aware that we will not promote unhealthy weight loss or fad diets.

Please feel free to post helpful links and resources, I will be more than happy to add them into this starting post if they're helpful. Also, when you post for the first time, please introduce yourself and include your aims, stats and a little bit about your situation!

Please be aware that we will only be supporting healthy and realistic aims, but we will be able to offer support to everyone.

Useful Links/Resources

BMI Calculator
Although BMI is not the be all and end all, it can give you a rough indication of how much weight you have to lose, or whether you're a healthy weight. Obviously if you're building muscle this will not be entirely accurate for you; but for most who are trying to lose weight this is helpful.

BMR Calculator
Your BMR is basically how many calories you'd burn on an average day if you did nothing. You should eat over your BMR if you're gaining weight, and under it if you're losing weight. Obviously you have to factor in how many calories you're burning during exercise, too.

MyFitnessPal
This allows you to keep a track of how much you're eating and how much exercise you're doing. The forums are helpful for specialist advice and there are lots of progress photos which I always find to be very helpful and motivating.

SparkPeople
Similar to MFP, also includes exercise videos, workout/stretch routines and healthy lifestyle articles.

TickerFactory
If you want to keep everyone updated with your progress, a ticker is very helpful (like the one I have in my sig). It helps to show how far you've come, and how far you have left to go. You can update your ticker at any time simply by clicking on it in your sig.

Your troll routine reminds me of somebody hmmm....

Routine sounds solid, good luck. 30mins of HIIT is the holy grail! We can dream!
Old thread hasn't even reached 10,000 yet, you eager beavers ;-).

Good spinning sesh again! such a good stress reliever!!

SO close to normal BMI now

[QUOTE='Flo[ProActiv];36256384']I'm really craving a tiger roll.
I have 4 downstairs, and it would fit in with my calories (currently on quite a low net), but I'm not sure whether to have one - I'm not really feeling hungry, but at the same time, I want one

I know how you feel...ate 500 calories all day because I just didn't get time so planned a really healthy dinner and would have been under 1200 to make up for how much I've eaten recently. Got in from shopping and everyone was eating pizza and my dad stresses out when I don't eat so really angrily told me to 'sit down and eat'. I didn't have to have 3 slices though :s-smilie: followed by two mini danish pastries...doh :frown: We'll be good tomorrow promise?!! (although it is my dads birthday)

Really happy that you're listening to your body and mind's needs  "Being good" is a concept which is often distorted in dieting mentality to mean quite the opposite-the best way to be good is to be good to yourself. Treat your body as you would your child-with plenty of respect and TLC. And sometimes that means giving it a break ^_^

Haha I totally know what you mean! My Dad's exactly the same! To be fair to you, control around pizza and cakes is incredibly hard, I don't blame you! Haha, yeah, definetely going to be good tomorrow. Just annoyed because I was doing so well! :colondollar:

WELCOME TO THE NEW THREAD!

Just "quoted" everyone on the last page of the other one, will post an ending message on that now and link to this thread. We were almost at 10,000 so I started it just incase, people posted, so might as well pop over now (you can jog, if you wish).

Raise a glass to thread 2!

Thank you, I'll add these to the original post now. I'll take your word for it that they're good sources as I know nothing about body building myself!

It's Jamie Eason. Google her, she speaks for herself.

YES that's the spirit! This is the thread I'll run outside again ha ha I only managed it once in the last thread, this thread I'm aiming for at least twice ;-).
Oh hai there

Early night for me I think. I'm absolutely knackered, and still feeling rather headachey/generally rubbish, although I've worked out why - TOTM :frown:

Might go for a run tomorrow morning, depending on (a) how early I get up, and (b) how achy I feel - we were using the spinny pole tonight at pole dance, which always leaves me far more achy than normal (probably due to the fact that I spend most of the time clinging on for dear life )
I made another amazing rye bread discovery: rye bread, light Philadelphia and fried courgettes. SO GOOD!

Seeing as all I ate today was pretty much rye bread, I decided to have a Crunchie to help me finish my coursework due tomorrow. Still 80cals under my daily limit without counting my morning jog XD

A good healthy recipe site is Skinny Taste, if you were looking for more links to add to the first post!

Just got back from swimming, tried another new pool this week (the last 'new' pool I tried was foul...dirty and full of people just floating around chatting, absolutely no room if you wanted to swim proper lengths). This one was good - quiet, clean and easy to get to  Think I've found my new place! It's only open Monday and Wednesday nights but both are good for me, so hopefully can keep it up regularly (and Saturday afternoon but I doubt I'll go to that session).

Well we were almost at 10,000 so I made this (I was bored) and people started posting so thought we may as well move over otherwise it'd make things confusing! My fault for doing it so early though.

I have a feeling I'll be doing lots of exercise for the next 2 weeks... my pole has just arrived (X-pole XPERT, both static and spinning in case anyone is interested)
Also just signed up for a 5 week beginner's trapeze course AND to top it all off my uni timetable has been reduced from 9-5 to pretty much mornings only, so no more excuses!

Ooh you have a pole lucky you! That's something I'd LOVE to do, but don't think anyone needs to see my body dancing round a pole at present ;-).
