Anyone studying Biological Sciences at Leicester?
    Hi!

I've got an offer for Biological Sciences at Leicester and I'm just wondering what the workload is like?

How many contact hours a week do you have approx? What do you do apart from lectures?

What is the course structure like and what sort of topics are covered? (there's only so much detail on the website!)

Is there a lot of choice when it comes to choosing modules?

    How big is the year?

and lastly, do you enjoy it?

Hey, I graduated in Biological Sciences last year. It's really awesome IF you enjoy that kind o a subject. Well, other than lectures, it's practicals, tutorial groups and all sorts of different seminars. First year is intense in a sense that you cover a wide breadth of knowledge in reasonable depth. Initially the year is HUGE, I mean some modules are "shared" with like biochemists, gentics, etc, and you are looking at around 100+ people in a lecture room. You can gradually specialize if you like. I chose cell physiology and pharmacology which was AWESOME. Many will say first year doesn't count so party your heart out. But, if you ace your first year, the rest of them are a breeze!

Like I said, I graduated last year and have a lot of books that are expensive to buy. I need to get rid of them, if you want to buy them off me, let me know. Oh and if you need any more information - Just holler x

Ahh awesome a reply, finally! Thank you!

I'm SO excited! I did a year and a half of Medicine (at a different uni) so I'm not new to uni life.. I've had my fill of partying I think, so I'm just gonna do my best with my degree (with some socialising ofc)

Are you still in Leicester? I'm interested in the books! x
