Shirley hughes...bring back pure memories that is!
I only had one alfie book, and my mum used to have to read it every single night... so she went out and bought the alfie and annie rose collection
to save her sanity more than my benefit I think
also, I agree, hobnobs are immense, especially the chocolate ones

A 1999 1.0l Volkswagen Polo. It was in good nick when I got it, in 2008, but needed a new battery and engine repairs after a few months. Still it lasted 2 of those really harsh winters...until someone bashed into the side of it when it was parked

Re: What was your first car & why did you get rid of it?2001 Corsa GLS 1.0. Failed an MOT so bad the Guinness book of world records were on the phone wanting to put it in!
Im convinced the guy I bought it off just paid someone to give him the MOT cert when I bought it
Now driving a ford fiesta 1999 1.2 not really an upgrade. Better condition though I guess.Last edited by Left Hand Drive; 10-02-2012 at 13:54. -

Re: What was your first car & why did you get rid of it?You could go classic though (when you are old). A friend of mine has aquired some real beauties including this mad miltary thing with a sidecar!(Original post by Boristhethird)
all three
though possibly going to be 'stuck' with a slower, less powerfull bike for a couple of months (as ive been offerd twice the value of my bike if i sell it early
)

Re: What was your first car & why did you get rid of it?when i get older, have more money, and cheaper insurance, i do want a number of bikes (including a project bike, as having a project bike as your daily driver does not work too well(Original post by GunnerBill)

Re: What was your first car & why did you get rid of it?
My first car was a a 1991 Nissan 300ZX 2+2 Twin Turbo which I got in 2009, epic car if a bit heavy on it's feet. It got written off last year after someone drove into it while it was parked...happily though the payout was decent and I'm now in a 2004 Mazda RX-8.

Re: What was your first car & why did you get rid of it?I got an old 3 Series (late '90s) which I promptly crashed and wrote off when I was learning although to be fair if the dick behind hadn't over taken on a corner then changed his mind halfway through I wouldn't of been in a crash (I'd say accident but I don't see it as such nor was it my fault).(Original post by GunnerBill)
What was your first car & why did you get rid of it?
Got a good payout though, his insurance must cost him a bomb now

Re: What was your first car & why did you get rid of it?I feel bad that other cars have better names than mine(Original post by cberry)
Mine is a 1999 1.2 vauxhall corsa (by the name of Eugene) and I still have him.
Eugene is an amazing name! Is it anything to do with the number plate, or was it for another reason?
Mine's a 2004 1.0 Corsa (kinda wish he was a 1.2, but oh well) called Spud. I was trying to think of a name for him, my mum said he looked like a potato (I have no idea why), and unfortunately the name stuck. Oh, and I still have him.
