Alcohol & Pregnancy.
Hey.
Basically, I have been having unproctected sex this month, even on my most fertile days. I am aware that I could possibly be pregnant. My period is due on the 13th of this month.
However, my birthday is the day after... on the 14th. If my period hasn't came by then I was going to take a pregnancy test on my birthday.
I do have big birthday plans however and was wondering if the test was positive and I went out and got really drunk on my birthday would this have any affect to the baby so early on in the pregnancy???
Or would I be best off with soft drinks?
Thank you for any advice. oxo -

Lol, OP it seems like your main concern is having to have an alcohol-free night out as opposed to the fact you potentionally have a baby growing inside of you
You sicken me.
Take your judgemental comments and shove them up your _ _ _ _. They have no place on a forum like this where people are asking for advice.
You can fill in the blanks. -

Quite frankly, the fact she sounded so casual about being pregnant and then focused entirely on whether she could have alcohol just has alarm bells ringing.

Re: Alcohol & Pregnancy.Casual? There is thousands of questions expectant mothers want answers to, isn't it better she asks rather than goes as gets drunk and harms the baby?(Original post by iamapokemon)
Your response wasn't exactly helpful to OP's situation
Quite frankly, the fact she sounded so casual about being pregnant and then focused entirely on whether she could have alcohol just has alarm bells ringing.
And you wonder why people are scared to ask things when they get responses like the one you post. -
Re: Alcohol & Pregnancy.
So you are trying for a baby OP?
If your big birthday is below the age of 21 I wouldn't recommend trying for a baby now anyway, not saying you'd make a bad mother, just that there is a lot of life left to live without a baby - gorgeous though children are they are expensive, messy and time consuming.
However, yes you should definitely stick to soft drinks. A foetus is most affected by alcohol in the first 3 months, you could even cause a miscarriage if you ingest too much alcohol in the early stages of pregnancy. Any drinking during pregnancy is not recommended (one glass of wine a week seems to be the limit if you cannot go without alcohol) otherwise you are putting your child at risk of Foetal Alcohol Syndrome as well as lots of other developmental problems.
You should also be taking folic acid suppliments and try and cut down/remove caffine from your diet if you intent to go through with the pregnancy. -

youre putting going out on the lash above your potential baby ... thats, and this is putting it very mildly, an incredibly callous thing to do ...
Implies she isn't, she is asking if alcohol will affect the baby, and if it will, she will stick to coke.
Maybe schools should teach people to read a little better.. -

Thankyou for other serious replies which answer my question about alcohol.
If the test does show positive, I shall be sticking to lemonade and coke all night
I do not mind having an 'alcohol free' birthday if it means a healthy baby.

Re: Alcohol & Pregnancy.
I think alcohol would have the worst affect on a foetus so young . . . It's still bad but a drop of weak alchocol a few days before your due date would probably not do very much but is still not good for him/her but when a baby could be this young then it's soo weak and vunerable.

Of course it would be bad to go out and get drunk whilst pregnant, even that early on in your pregnancy.
