Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012Thanks, I'm being cautiously optimistic. Yes those question packs are legendary! They're really good for practice and getting used to the exam layout. I have no guarantee I'm doing well :/ I just didn't get very good January module results so have just been doing solid chemistry for ages now, really need that A. In fact could you give me tips for F325?(Original post by Fatima0065)
WOW! u smahed it!! and are you talking about the question packs on the alevelchem website??? and no problem...
have u got any tips..u seem to be doing really well!
It's pretty scary

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012Thanks mate that second arrow that I drew they will probably think I'm trying to show them the distance between the reactants and x axis don't u think but I definately labelled the correct one so it should be ok? N I had a look at June 2009 and that was 75 for an A so I'm thinking this may b that to or maybe 74? Wt u suggest and for the bond angle of ethene I put trigonal planar 3 bonded pairs 120 degrees and lone pairs repel more than bonded pairs u reckon I'll get all 3 marks here?(Original post by Fatima0065)

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012if you mentioned electron pairs you get the third mark(Original post by TonyQuenca2012)

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012Oh crap I didn't I said trigonal planar 120 and 3 bonded pairs no lone pairs I thought that would have been enough? N when it said why does methane cause global warming did u have to talk about the bonds as I said the bonds vibrate and pass on their kinetic energy to neighbouring molecules and they release heat energy u think I'll get 2 for that(Original post by otrivine)

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012did you mention absorbs infra red radiation(Original post by TonyQuenca2012)

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012Yes but did u have to specify that the C-H bond vibrate u think ??(Original post by otrivine)
did you mention absorbs infra red radiation -
Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012no thats fine brilliant you get the marks(Original post by TonyQuenca2012)
Yes but did u have to specify that the C-H bond vibrate u think ??
you had to say bonds vibrate , due to absorption of infra red radiation -
Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012U probably could have mentioned about that they pass on their kinetic energy to neighbouring molecules causing them to emit heat? This could also b a Mark could it?(Original post by otrivine)

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012yes that is fine but it was 2 marks anyways so you are secured for 2 marks(Original post by TonyQuenca2012)

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012What do u think the boundaries will b and what range do u think u are in in terms of marks?(Original post by otrivine)
yes that is fine but it was 2 marks anyways so you are secured for 2 marks

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 201277 for A(Original post by TonyQuenca2012)
What do u think the boundaries will b and what range do u think u are in in terms of marks?
68 for B
59 for C
50 for D
41 for E seems resonable in my opinion due to the tricky questions -
Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012hmm i think boundaries for A would be less than 77 marks for sure ! and for B grade i think around 68 marks , well i dont know how much i will be getting cause it depends on the official mark scheme but a rough estimate i think around 76-83 marks(Original post by TonyQuenca2012)

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012WherE is the unofficial Mark scheme could u send me the link for it please! And I am in doubt as to whether I said they absorb infrared radiation but I still could get my 2 marks for saying the bonds vibrate and pass on their extra kinetic energy causing more heat to be emitted in the atmosphere? I think it will be 75 for an A or maybe 74(Original post by otrivine)

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012hope so that would be really good!the mark scheme is in page 154(Original post by TonyQuenca2012)

You thought I was Kiddin?Lol.
Anyways...Here it Is. Rushed it when copying from PDF (It exceeded max MB). Hope you appreciate it though.

Re: OCR Chemistry A F322 Chains, Energy and Resources Wed 23 May 2012
Ok guys going to look through the 'unofficial mark scheme' and count up by marks, I may commit suicide during the process. I really shouldn't do this. Here we go. HAHAHA. :'(
___
where do I find how many marks for each question? :sLast edited by Bright; 26-05-2012 at 16:31.
