Re: F1 Engineer vs Doctor.. which could take the shape of a hot chick or some stinky old dude. Too much of a risk. You're right.(Original post by mikeyd85)
You don't have to deal with the public.
Big downsides of being an F1 engineer are working hours, holidays, and chance of losing your job though. -
Re: F1 Engineer vs Doctor
F1 engineer of course. You see F1 on the TV, and you see the engineers working hard and playing hard, and you know in real life, being an F1 engineer is actually like that. House on the other hand isn't real. You don't get intriguing mystery cases every day. Usually it's mundane, the same old complains. I imagine it would get tedious and boring after a while, sat in the same old office, doing the same old thing. At least with F1, you get to travel the world, party with rich and famous, meet amazing people, and have fans and swagger. And you would earn £35000 as a starting wage for an F1 engineer, which obviously if you are good, rises to the millions earnt by people like Newey, which is pretty damn good. Plus you get to see F1 races, live, and for free!

Re: F1 Engineer vs Doctor
And how many people who start an automotive engineering degree become F1 engineers?
And how many people who start a medical degree become doctors?
There are very few engineers who make it to F1, exceptionally few who get the chance to travel with the teams, and literally a handful who become famous. Its great to have dreams, but be realistic, there are A LOT of people after the same jobs. -
But those skill are applicable in any industry wants you works in F1 many companies want to hire because thy know you can work to tight deadlines like a week to rebuild the car and you've got the skills of performance(Original post by TitanicTeutonicPhil)

That may be true but I want to be an F1 engineer and honestly if you have a dream you chase it and so what you don't get to travel the world as much you love the dream enough you'll make it work(Original post by Riderz)
