Always wondered how well I would do with them. I thought now is the best time to start since my conventional is **** anyway.

Started with back off sets on the squats and upped my minimum. Also gotta make sure I never forget my shorts again. Working out in jeans was painful.

Camera ran out of batteries on my 3rd back of set of squats. I'm having to send me my weightlifting shoes into repair and squat in my vans for the time being. Lifting in them is like lifting on a bouncing castle.

Your pressing seems to have gone a bit downhill mate?

Wasn't a max. I'm working around 70-72.5kg as my heavy weight for the day so I can get used to this new starting position. I think being weaker in this position is just temporary while I get used to it. When I look back at the videos of me pressing 3x5 70kg with bent wrists it hurts my wrists just looking at it. It may not hurt me right now but it could seriously harm my longevity later on. Since my max is 77.5kg with my original starting position I'm not too far off. Also remember the back off sets are done from a dead stop which is harder on my muscles. When you do the deadlift from the dead stop until you start pulling it your muscles aren't under any tension. However with the dead stop overhead my muscles are under even greater tension since they are still bearing the load of the weight while I pause for a second or two at the bottom. I think I've doubled my time under tension by switching to a dead stop. Holding the weight at the top as I do in some of my reps really fries my arms too.

Just this and I need to lean back slightly in the beginning. I'm gonna follow this except with the hip thrust at the bottom.

Actually the technique used in the 2nd edition seems better for a strict press.

Had a lot of work to do this week so I wasn't able to go in as many times as I would've liked. I might go tomorrow to make up for it. I pulled a muscle in my left shoulder on Weds so I wasn't able to push press on Friday. So far I have only gained 0.3kg.

    Dead stop ohp 72.5kg
    3x3 62.5kg
There was some pain in the warm ups but it went away as the sets went on. The new starting position is starting to take effect.
    Squat
177.5kg, 185kg 190kg. Had the whole room looking at me on this. Weird.
    3x3 160kg

Nice man your squats are looking really strong, come a long way from your squats back in uni gym - whats your reason for not training with a belt though?
also did you give up on bench and deadlifting?
