That I'm not in it! I want to go back....
I can't think of anything bad about it, but maybe that's just because I haven't lived there since I was five. Been to it a million times on holiday but it's not the same, I don't like feeling an outsider.

    Are you kidding me?!?!
Please elaborate? There may be aspects which can be improved upon but I think I, at the very least, have liven quite a comfortable life here.

Okay well, granted that you live quite comfortably here.

But quality of living has much more to offer beyond infrastructure, education and health. Even so, our education system, albeit being envied by American and Chinese education authorities, stifled our creativity and character development process. Everything here is just about grades, money and looking good on paper.

Our healthcare system isn't among the best in the world too.

I see that many fellow Singaporean mates just mug for the sake of mugging; if they can't get into a good school, then they will simply resign to their fate of going to a private school. Just so sad, don't you think so?

    What I like about Britain:

    - Has advanced and civilised laws which have influenced nearly every legal system in the world

    - There is a lot of important political history attributed to England and Scotland

    - The weather is almost perfect: never too cold and never too hot

    - I love London

    What I dislike:

    - How liberal values have dominated society and politics over the last 50 or so years

    - How poor the social mobility is of British society

    - How this country is literally an economic oligarchy

    - How it is the 21st century yet we still have a queen who has no significant function

    - How the rich are automatically at an advantage

    - How many people abuse alcohol and drugs

    - How salaries do not correspond with rising taxes

    - How going to university is so damn expensive

    - How this country claims to be a 'democracy' yet proportional and regional representation is extremely poor

    - How the hypocrisy of its leaders is unmatched

    - How there is still no complete separation of Church and State

    - British people are generally lazy compared to, for example, Russians or Poles.

I do agree that quality of living encompasses more than just physical aspects, for example environmental conditions (clean water and air here) and the arts (not very prominent here).

For education, I think that Singapore's education has instilled in students a high degree of academic prowess. Of course, I have several gripes about our system, which I feel provides us with less breadth and room for creative thinking, and encourages at times suffocating competition. However I would still undertake a Singaporean education than one that is disorganised.

For healthcare, I think that our infrastructure is well-organised and out manpower is well-skilled. There is access to healthcare and policies are in place for those less-off financially. One of the pillars of our healthcare, medisave, while might be a temporary financial burden, helps to pay large medical bills in the long run. However from my experiences, there are those who fall through the cracks of our policies, are still unable to afford healthcare expenditure entirely and delay treatment. I think policies can be less inflexible and more compassionate.

I think that quality of living is relatively high here. Even though there may be kinks here and there which can still be improved on and often it is these kinks that are more jarring, our fundamental structures and systems are well-laid.

Religion - okay nothing is wrong with religion but people seem to allow it to brainwash or delude them, or it can lead to negative actions (imposing it on others, being prejudiced against people who don't fit into the beliefs) he way people go overboard about religion that it becomes negative - e.g. people believing the God should come down and fix their problems, believe that your children are possessed by the devil, etc.
