    Re: My Strength Blog
First Day of SS... kept moving on the weights i was on..

    Squats
    20x5x2
    35x5
    50x4
    70x2
    90x3x5

    OHP
    20x5x3
    25x3
    35x2
    42.5x3x5

    DL
    60x5
    70x3
    70x1 (mixed grip)
    85x2
    105x5 (mixed grip)

I thought the session would be easier than normal due to two less sets but squats were way harder than last time and so we DL for some reason. I finally did the OHP albeit with two less sets but i hadnt done 3x5 even if the last two sets were discounted on my other tries at this weight. I think the difference was the warmup, i did less sets... DL i just realised maybe it was because i changed to mixed grip for the workset which felt awkward but the bar was never slipping out of my hand and grip was solid.

    ^ Cheers

Also I weighed in at 67kg today, about 1/4 kg weight gain in the last 2 weeks where i've been getting ~2kg every 2 weeks. Think i'm still gaining muscle but i just burnt some of the fat off with the football match

Didnt train today. No reason for it which is dumb, so i'm gonna have to do mon/wed/fri this week

So conclusively how much are you lifting on: bench press, squat and deadlift at the moment?

Can't you just look at the last time he logged a training section, on this very thread and on this very page for squats and deadlifts

    That's what i'm thinking...?

    But here you go anyway:

Bench 60kg (5,5,4 last time, looking for 3x5)
    Squat 90kg (3x5)
    DL 105 kg (1x5)

    Squats
    20x5x2
    35x5
    55x3
    75x2
    92.5x3x5

    Bench
    20x5x2
    30x5
    40x5
    50x2
    60x3x5

    Power Cleans
    20x3
    30x3
    35x3
    40x3
    45x5x3

    Squats were tough again
    Bench was relatively easy
Power Cleans were good, stopped at 45 as my catching became dodgy, as a result i was losing confidence on the catch in the 4th set so wasnt catching properly, felt it more on my legs though

    Squats
    20x5x2
    35x5
    55x4
    75x2
    95x3x5

    OHP
    20x5x2
    25x5
    30x3
    35x2
    45 - 4,4,3

    DL
    60x5
    75x3
    90x2
    110x5 (mixed grip)

    Ok, got some time
    Squats - Struggled
    OHP - Poor
    DL - Struggled

With OHP i struggled with 42.5 but moved up anyway because i got 3x5. Squats and deadlifts were really tough, with DL i think it is because i switch to mixed and am not used to it. Have to look into my squat technique though. I feel like i havent eaten much in the last week, so im gonna try eating some more, drinking more milk, etc.

    Squats
    20x5x2
    35x5
    55x3
    75x2
    97.5x3x5

    Bench
    20x10
    40x5
    55x5
    62.5x3x5

    Power Cleans
    20x5x2
    25x5
    30x3
    40x2
    50x5x3

Have a gym in my shed but this was the first time i've done it in a public gym.
Squats and Bench was relatively easy. Some guy was telling me the 1.25 plates made no differences to my lift as they were so small lol. So i told him i dont give a ****. I let him carry on doing his partial 80kg bench and another guy his partial 100kg bench. Although, in general this gym isnt as bad as what i've seen said about gyms. No Smith Machine in it for one.
Power Cleans were easy, although i failed one rep, i just added an extra one onto that set, think it was a lapse in form

    Squats
    20x5x2
    40x5
    60x4
    80x2
    100x3x5

    OHP
    20x5x3
    30x3
    35x2
    45 - 5,3,2

    DL(mixed grip)
    60x5x2
    80x3
    95x2
    115x5

Squats - These were as hard as my last session was easy. I got my last rep just about... but 2 plate squate
OHP - new 5RM... but less reps overall than my last session on the same weight. could have got a 4th rep on my second set, was very close, body was shaking like crazy. One more try then maybe reset the weight.
DL - Tough but got through it. Tried mixed grip throughout to get used to it. Felt my hamstrings, glutes and lower back on this one.

Yeah, feels good. For the last 20-30kg progress my squats have gona through periods where it's been easy and hard, but now it's getting real tough

But fml with OHP, will see what happens...

    Squats
    25x5x2
    40x5
    60x3
    80x2
    102.5x3x5

    Bench
    20x5
    30x5
    40x4
    55x2
    65 5,4,2

    Power Cleans
    20x5x2
    25x5
    35x3
    45x2
    55 3,2
    50x3x3

All three were tough, it felt as if the public gym i went to had lighter weights than in my shed. I recall in this thread that i thought that session was easy and that is probably why. Bench felt tonnes harder, Squats have been harder than that session and power cleans felt a lot heavier. 50kg at that gym felt harder than the 50kg in my shed. Very Strange

    OHP
    20x5x3

    DL(mixed grip)
    60x5x2
    80x3
    100x2
    120x5

Squats - Very tough, just about got my final rep of my final set out.
OHP - Three times i havent made it, time for a rest
DL - Felt the strain in my glutes/hams, ridiculous amount of tension in them

I got a problem. My dad wont let me go higher than 105kg squat because i struggled a lot with and he deems it "unsafe, dangerous, and you will end up on the floor with this". The squat rack we have doesnt have the side bar catches so i cant say it's safe, etc. What shall i do? One option is go to the local gym but this would majorly piss my dad off. Im in my last year of A level so i will be at uni next year so i can do what i want in 6 months time. Are there any programs i can do without squats or max effort squats for 6 months?
