Thankfully. Would have been horrible had these two not batted through to lunch. At least now WI won't be beaten SO BADLY
As long as we get a wicket with the new ball i'll be confident. Well as confident as you can be watching us chase a score

If these two see the new ball off and both reach centuries we could be chasing a lot, big hour or two of play coming up after lunch. Strauss has kept Anderson and Broad rested for this, i'm backing them to do the job.

There have been a few great batsmen recently who have produced arguably the greatest performances of their career against an excellent English bowling attack whilst others have wilted. A guy I know who's been watching cricket for 50 years said he'd rarely seen skill, elegance and determination combined like Yousuf in 2006, and obviously Dravid's efforts, the 146* and 112 last year were close to superhuman. But Shiv is threatening to put them both, batting legends, to shame this year. With the advent of the IPL and 20/20, this could well be the last time you see a batsman resist the world's best bowlers on home soil in such dominant fashion.

Excellent bowling by Roach..love to see Windies put a fight here.

Trott should consider himself very lucky.

Yeah because he hopped outside off, thats the only thing that saved Trott was the impact or else that ball did enough to give him out.

So? By that metric, the only thing that saved pretty much all of the Windies was not being good enough to nick one of the many balls that whistled past many an edge today.

To be fair how close was the impact near offstump line..say Aleem Dar gave that out that would have stayed out-hence it was a very close call.

    Good stuff

Bell looked on course for a century in both innings, ran out of partners in the 1st innings and ran out of runs to get in the 2nd. Encouraging for the rest of the series though.

1.) He refuses to play and has been offered option to retire 2.) He never really muller'ed any Test Bowler in Test Matches 3.) RCB have only just finished in the IPL

    1) He hasnt refused to play! The selectors dont chose him(apparently because his 'attitude'). Now that he is picked (and all the 'problems' between coach selector, and player)he canceled his Somerset deal(for ODI's)!
2)hahaha what a joke! Do you remember his 333 at Galle against the Lankans?!!!!And know he is in peak time of scoring runs.
    3) If RCB have just finished IPL--MORE OF A REASON FOR GAYLE TO BE PICKED IN THE SECOND TEST

    READ what Sammy says:http://www.espncricinfo.com/england-...ry/565697.html

Seriously who wouldnt want Gayle to bat against the likes of Anderson,Broad and Swann???!!! Even KP wants Gayle in windies to see him compete- http://www.espncricinfo.com/england-...ry/565866.html

    GAYLE FOR SECOND TEST!!

    1. He doesn't want to play. AKA attitude?
    2. yeah has hit 333, but he doesn't play IPL cricket like it seemed you implied in Test.
    3. Well they collectively finish tomorrow, do you think he'll want to play after the busy IPL schedule? No
