Re: Someone that studies MPharm at KingstonThank you for your reply! sounds awesome.(Original post by Scarface-Don)
Went to the open day yesterday and I really liked the place
The building where all the pharmacy lectures and practicals are is brand new and their library is quite modern as well. I found the staff really approachable and friendly and the fact that there is a lot of support during your course was emphasised throughout the whole day. I spoke to a pharmacy student and he said that he had offers from Kingston, King's and LSOP but went for Kingston because the pharmacy school is much smaller than King's or LSOP so you develop a better relationship with teachers and you're more likely to find teachers to help you. He also told me that it doesn't matter where you study pharmacy because the General Pharmaceutical Council tells pharmacy schools what they have to teach and the pre-registration exam is the same for every pharmacy student across the country. Employers will prefer someone from Kingston with a first rather than someone from King's or LSOP with a second. I picked up a leaflet about pharmacy and it said that the employment rate for their pharmacy graduates is pretty much 100%.
Im going to put it down as my first choice because of many reasons
But i heard the labs were old?x

Re: Someone that studies MPharm at KingstonThe labs were ok, I wouldn't describe them as old, but not exactly modern(Original post by asaaal)

Re: Someone that studies MPharm at KingstonWow I actually can't believe how they lie to people but then they are going to be making loads of money out of you and with the behaviour of the staff so far i shouldn't be surprised.(Original post by Scarface-Don)

I wish I had seen this thread earlier I would have tried to advise you to forget Kingston for pharmacy. It truly is the worst. They stress on professionalism for students whilst their staff are the most unprofessional people I have ever come across.. ofcourse this is generalisation and not all staff are like this there are the odd few who actually act like human beings!
Good luck to you is all I can say now... but to those reading this who still have a chance to go elsewhere take my advice... AVOID Kingston uni for pharmacy! -
